Hopefully the sox dont slide into another slump and we can get back on the winning track, and stay ahead of the yankees :)

We'll get it back, don't worry. D'amico vs Kim. Kim's been bad: 0-0, 10.80 vs. CLE in 2004, but D'amico has been even worse 0-1, 12.60 vs. BOS in 2004. I'm not too worried, I think Kim will have a great performance. Or at least, I hope he does. We cant lose to the Indians at home!

"We owe those guys a little something. They took it to us the first couple nights." -- Pokey Reese on last week's series in Cleveland

Millar's been hot, and Manny's been even hotter. O should not be a problem this time around.

The best thing about a Kim start is knowing Arroyo is backing him up. ;)

Manny will most likely not be playing because he is in Florida getting his citizenship. You don't skip an appointment to get one of those, baseball game or not. IT took my uncle 10 years to get his finally.

Congrats Manny!

BK's not making a great case for the 5th spot right now. Giving up 2 in the first is a great way to make Bronson Arroyo look mighty appealing.

I'm just not sure if Kim is ready right now. I love him as a pitcher, he'll do great things, maybe eventually be a #2 guy on a team somwhere. Just right now, he isnt looking too great, not sure if its the injury or what.

Playing in Boston might also not be his thing right now. He might prefer a more laid back, less die-hard type of place to get his act together and become the dominant pitcher he certainly can be.

Oh, and a side question: Does anyone know of any truly great submarine style pitchers like Kim who have pitched in the past?

DAMN! Another two runs! Kim is not looking good at all right now!

YanksHater213

maybe his first start back was a fluke.

btw, the red sox have given up 2 runs in the first inning to the indians in all 5 games they have played this season

This game is going exactly as one would expect. Not a good showing for either starting pitcher. Looks like it will come down to the bullpens if one team doesn't build a big enough lead on the other.

BTW, it's Bottom 3rd, Men on 2nd & 3rd, 1 out. Good chance to tie the game up.

Good job Dahbauc (sp?), tied 4-4.

Man on 2nd, 1 out.

It's been ugly for Kim thus far, but it's been even uglier for D'amico, he's out after 2.2 innings.

30 more pitches and kim is at his limit (85). i think he'll last 2 more innings at best and Bronson will come in

It's just an ugly, ugly game. Oh well, these things happen I guess. But at least we aren't losing!

6-4 indians, does BK wanna lose?!??!

Time for BK to go back to AAA

Let's get the bats rolling, were going to need them.

funny, on the WEEI radio broadcast they are saying how if the game goes at the current rate, Manny may be back in time to get an at-bat...haha.

Welcome to the site man.

And I heard it mentioned on the pre-game on NESN that they thought he had a shot at getting back, since his citizenship thing was earlier in the day and he was scheduled for rest on Saturday anyway. He's probably just chilling in the clubhouse though.

Yeah, wouldn't mind him getting a well-needed day off...as long as we pull out a win here.

He doesnt need to go to AAA yet. Once he settles in, whenever that'll be, you'll be praising him, I guarantee it. But for the part about the bats getting rolling, I agree. We need more runs to make up for this!

Kim has always been a bonafide relief pitcher for me. He never really fit in as a starter in ARI or BOS. I think Arroyo has the edge in the starting position, but Kim is an All-Star pitcher, he has been in the past, just not as a starter.

Also, DB knocks in a run. It's 6-5 Cle, bottom 5, bases empty, 2 out.

Me too i dont like Kim or many asian players especially Hideki Matsui. HE may be the ugliest baseball player ever. And BK i dont think deserves the 5th spot i think arroyo does

What just happened with Pokey's throw getting by McCart? Im listening to it on the radio and its really confusing.

Okay, it's 7-5 Cleveland, but a win is definitely not out of reach. Neither team is playing well this evening, but Cleveland is just edging the Sox out.

We need to really pull together here and stop giving up runs. First our bats were sleepy and now our defense is playing horrendously. What's with all the errors all the sudden?

The errors have to stop, and the Sox need to win some baseball games. New York and Baltimore are right on their asses for the AL East.

Bottom 6th

1 out

Bellhorn (oh god) at bat.

how the hell is it only the 7th inning

Ouch 9-5. Pitching not the story of today's game.

Well the sox have the 7th, 8th, and 9th inning to make up a 4 run deficit. Man we could really use Nomar and Trot right now.

ACL BoSox
05-10-2004, 09:05 PM
Nice job Tek, solo jack.

It should be 9-7 sox, because Millar got robbed on a call, but I won't complain, there might have been some outside help on that last HR.

If they eek this one out I'll be happy. We need to score runs early on though, so we dont face these situations!

They gotta hold the tribe right here, and then make up 3 runs in the 8th and the 9th.

i think it can be done, but there will need to be some clutch hitting tonight
