Commence the winning streak, even with Jeremi Gonzalez on the hill.

One more thing: could it be possible for the Tigers to have any more black outfielders? White, Thames, Monroe, Logan, Young. I'm not racist or anything, but three of those players (White, Thames and Monroe) are carbon-copies of each other as players. Dmitri Young is a damn good hitter, though.

albeit a shakey first Gonzalez has struck out 4 of 6, although I still think it will take at least 6 runs to win this game.

Doesn't it always. Anyway, we need to start to score here. Sheesh.

Wow. Bonderman is nails. Nixon-Ramirez-Ortiz up. No one out. Bases loaded. He gets 'em. I think that was more Bonderman's special pitching ability than Sox ineptitude.

To be honest, Gonzalez did what he was asked to do. The Red Sox are still in this ballgame, and now its up to Blaine Neal.

You know all those men left on base... yeah that's killing us right now...

5-3 Tigers, Blaine Neal ineffective as usual

Why did we take out Gonzalez again?

Haha, I have no faith in Blaine Neal whatsoever anymore. He could very well be the worst relief pitcher in the MLB.

But he does make a damn good human shield. I think this game is a lost cause..

Sox lose 8-3. As someone said up there, Gonzalez did what I expected him to do, pitch about 5 innings allow 3 or so runs and most importantly keep the game close. If these scrub pitchers can do what Gonzalez did tonight, then we should win some games they start because the bullpen has been underacheiving and should get better. Speaking of the bullpen, I say we make a run at Urbina or Farnsworth in a setup role at the deadline, or some other setup guy, because I think we need that more than a closer, because quite frankly Embree hasn't gotten the job done.

Between Embree and Neal, as well as lack of IMPORTANT offense, this game was just a dagger to the heart. This guy Gonzalez comes up to make an emergency start cause we're fucking depleted, and does a damn good job. I would have been ecstatic if he lasted four innings and gave up four runs, and he went above and beyond what was needed. A heads up to the Sox: 11 hits are useless if you can't get the runs across the plate. Detroit had one more hit than us...and 5 more runs. De-fucking-troit. I wasn't impressed by anyone tonight except for our injured pitcher (Mantei) and our minor leaguer.
