Hopefully. Looks like Damon's got the night off and Bellhorn's the first hitter. Interesting.

This game is turning into a rather vicious beatdown. 7-0 after 4. (I'd prefer 7-0 after 8, though).

In other news, the Mariners' DH is batting .188. That seems indicative of some rather serious problems, no?

Strangest thing to happen yet tonight - Embree just had a 1-2-3 inning!

Clement: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER. Daaaaaaang. Our pitchers are getting uppity recently.

In other news, a guy named Putz is pitching for the M's. I know that it's stupid to make fun of somebody because of their name. I have a pretty silly last name myself, but as I recall I was born with it and it pretty much stuck. But you have to admit that the last name Putz is pretty bad.

Its pronounced Pootz I believe. But I remember in a game last year he pitched, someone yelled out... "YOU PUTZ!" It was a very hilarious happening.

and the Yanks lose again! They came back from 3-1 down to tie it, but Rivera blew it and gave up 3 in extra innings. I don't know if there was an error, but there were 2 walks. Ha ha. Yankees suck.

This season is gonna be fun. :D My favorite is the fan who said he'd accept a rebuilding stage, with the yankees trading away all of their players. That'll be the day, when the yankees rebuild.

Thanks. I just saw that about an hour and thirty minutes before the game started that we still hadn't made a Seattle thread going yet, so I decided to make one. :)

I know you all know, and it's early, but......... THE YANKEES ARE 9 GAMES OUT OF FIRST PLACE. That is a lot... esp. with four teams to jump over.

The YANKEES SUCK. Let's kick them out of the AL East. I have a good team that we could replace them with...atleast this team will be competitive against the Devil Rays :

The Red Ladybugs t-ball team...besides, I'm sure they've accomplished something recently to brag about. Any thoughts?

Re: M's pitcher Putz.

Its pronounced Pootz I believe.

Oh, well, that makes it a lot better :) .

Here's something that took place in the bottom of the 10th in the Yankees game. With a runner on first and no one out...

R.Cano grounded into fielder's choice, left fielder C.Thomas to second baseman K.Ginter, R.Cano to first, T.Martinez out. [Copied from SI's website.]

Can anyone tell me what happened here? How the heck does the LF throw someone out at second? Is Martinez really that slow? Did anyone see it?

Probably Tino was confused and got thrown out. You remember that Billy Mueller shot last July? In that game Damon was judging a fly ball to RF, which fell, and Damon was thrown out at 2nd. But then again that would be scored a single with the runner getting thrown out.

The Yanks just collapsed... bases loaded, ground ball to Tino. He tries to step on the bag, misses, and throws it home, and throws it away. As I saw it on Sportscenter, I got a very large chuckle out of it.

3 runs in the inning and the A's didnt even hit it out of the infield.

I watched the whole Yanks game because I'm in Jersey this weekend...it was a beautiful MoMeltdown. These NY announcers are so incredibly naive it's funny.
