What really is a podcast? Is it like somebody owns an iPod and has these songs and streams them over the internet?

Sort of...You don't really have to have an iPod. You upload your audio files to a web site
and create an RSS feed. Then people subscribe to the feed and listen to or download the
audio files (usually mp3 files) to their PC, their iPod, etc.

The name comes from:

iPod + broadcast = podcast.

If you like to know more, please visit http://ww.podblaze.com You'll see how simple it
really is. There's lots of mp3 players around bsides iPods. For example, The MuVo by
Creative, the Rio by Diamond, etc. And we're not after your money - just your ears.

A lot of people are using the iRiver device to digitally record live interviews, etc. and
put these into their "podcasts".
