I hate the late start. God. Easy win, no?

YanksHater213
05-13-2005, 04:49 PM
No, only because Gonzalez is pitching. Yeah, hes done better than expected, but you just never know with him...

SuperManny

obviously not an automatic win but we should have a good shot at it. Doesnt seattle have a pitchers park as well? That should bode well for Gonzalez

I'm going! Should be a Sox win. M's can hit anything. But I guess it is Friday the 13th....

GO SOX! I love watching the M's...especially this season I can watch Ichiro, Sexson, Beltre etc. Don't ask me why, I've just always loved watching games against the M's...

***BALTIMORE UPDATE***

CHW 5 - BAL 3 FINAL

***YANKEE UPDATE***

NYY 2 - OAK 0 TOP 3

So with a win tonight we can TIE for the division lead.

schillingouttheks
05-13-2005, 09:46 PM
Yeah, well so far that's not going too well, even though it's early. Ok, our offense will step up, and Jeremi will settle down. But I gotta say, Ichiro is a tank.

05-13-2005, 09:55 PM
Well Soxie, here comes your buddy Bellhorn with a nice HR...

Hopefully this is a sign of a turn-around?

I'm starting not to like Piniero...I mean seriously, how many times can you hit Manny. But whatever can't be intentional.

schillingouttheks
05-13-2005, 10:04 PM
YEAH! Way to make them pay Renteria.

Game tied 3-3 in the top of the third, and you can hear the Sox fans chanting "Let's go Red Sox!!" I love it.

Wow, I'm the only one in the thread tonight...cool. Goddamn it Tito, get Gonzalez the fuck out of teh game, he's got nothing left. Sexson and Ibanez go back to back and now everyone's hitting him. What else do we need to suffer from before you realize it's bullpen time?

schillingouttheks
05-13-2005, 10:24 PM
Nixon is a tank <3

And come on guys, don't make it look like I'm talking to myself. Or whatever, it can just be taken as a scoring summary for the game. I'm trying to make it look like this thread isn't a lost cause so it would be nice if someone could HELP ME OUT HERE.

Friday + Late game = not very fun baseball.

schillingouttheks
05-13-2005, 10:38 PM
I'm trying man, I'm trying to make it. I feel bad for M's fans though, they can't even have time to enjoy the back-to-back HRs by Sexson and Ibanez before Piniero gives the lead back up. Depressing time for them...

Thank God, now hopefully Halama will do well again. I gotta tell ya, I think it was a low-rish high-reward move to snag Halama.

I take that back, goddamn it. Beltre with a shot and a half. 8-6 M's...

I have a feeling this game is coming down to the ninth inning.

ACL BoSox
05-13-2005, 10:50 PM
Yeah, I don't have confidence if we're up by one and Mr. Meatball is on the mound... We will score at least 2 more runs to tie it, but can we hold the M's here?

We're trying... but I have to say that you're doing a great job holding down the fort by yourself. This way, we don't have to answer that age-old question, "What if they made a gameday thread and nobody came?"

schillingouttheks
05-13-2005, 10:51 PM
I never thought I'd say it, but this is the time you wish you had David Wells in your rotation :(

Yeah, I was about to bust on the D-Backs because the Rockies (the Rockies!!!) scored 18 runs on them today, but we're on track to have about the same done to us by the M's. Gruesome.

It's too late for me to be pulling hair out of my head. I'm goin to sleep. I'll watch the sixth than I'm out. Highlights are fun...

Damn west-coast games, I cant get my goddamn daily dose of Red Sox baseball when it's this late. Oh yay, then we get to go Oakland during the weekdays. Well that sucks.

Oh great, and Halama gets rocked...again. I want tomorrow to come so we can beat their asses.

If we lose, oh well, Baltimore did too so we don't lose ground. The Yanks win oh well they're still pretty far behind. Go Sox...if you have a nice comeback, well I'll see it in the morning.

Sadly the only good thing about this game thus far.

And did I see Cla Meredith warming up?! Did Tito get a brain transplant?!

ACL BoSox

Does it not bother Francona that every time Merideth takes the mound he gives up a minimum of 2 runs?

Why is he even on the roster?

05-13-2005, 11:47 PM
I'm not sure. But that was a bad move. The guy throws a strike rarely and his balls miss the strike zone by like 50 feet.

This game is awful.

I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about this one. We had a friggin spot starter on the mound, and anytime we win with him I consider it a bonus. Tomorrow is another day, and a game we should win. So lets not try to get too worried about this one, k?

Pineiro's line looks awful for the M's... until you look as Gonzalez's.

And I was one of them. Great game, except for the fact that the Sox lost. I was up in the bleachers (I love the bleachers for Sox games, bound to be Sox fans close by) with a bunch of Sox fans around, and these nice Sox fans next to us that we had a good conversation with. 162 game season, I'll be back Saturday!

Even though we lost, I found really a lot of good out of this game.

1) Had anyone else been pitching, we would have won.
2) Our offense is finally clicking, everyone is hitting (Johnnys hit-streak is 18, by the way)
3) Foulke pitched a scoreless inning. Thats exactly what Tito needs to do. Get him in during non-pressure situations and let him get in a rhythm and get some confidence. I've noticed when hes been pitching he hasnt had that same... swagger (?) I guess you could call it. Hes hasnt really been showing any confidence at all.

I also took a few visits to your friendly Mariner board because this board got kinda boring. As you can see, I was the only one on it for a long time . Anyway, some of those guys are funny, especially the opening post about the game when the guy said, "We will get crushed beneath the heels of these Red Sox." (Or something to that effect.) Anyway, I think you post there too because there's this guy named "Element" there, who has almost the same avatar as you, so I'm guessing that it is you. And he's also located in Redmond, WA. Haha, it is you isn't it you sneaky bastard.

EDIT: the avatar isn't the same it's just blue like yours...

So which board you like better?

No big deal on the game last night. No one expected Jeremi Gonzalez to keep up the 5-6 IP, 3 ER, 6-7 K outings he was having. There's a reason even Tampa Bay didn't want him.

Yeah, they say that on a road trip to the other coast that it takes two days to shake off the time difference. We'll see. They did score 7 runs though, and every pitcher they pitched last night has some sort of issue.

I'm a little worried about Cla. It's always cool to see a young guy up, especially after flying through the minors. But it's just too soon for him. I guess if he fully develops, he could be a BK Kim type pitcher in a few years (the good Kim). But I just have a problem with submariners. He's gone by Wed anyway, but it's too bad he couldn't have at least 1 good inning.
