In recent history the Sox have had Oakland's number. In fact, since going down 0-2 in the 2003 ALDS to the A's, the Sox have won 14 of the last 15. Tonight's game features a 10:05 PM EDT start and the weather for the game should be fairly nice. At game time, the temperature will be around 62°F with winds out of the west at 19 MPH. There is a 10% chance of rain, but overall it should be a nice one.

Arroyo has been HOT as of lately, and has not lost a game all year. To fully understand that, you must know that in Bronson's last 3 starts, he's averaging 3.6 hits per game. Here is Arroyo's game-by-game stats for 2005:

IP H R ER SO/BB HR BF G/F PC GSc
04/08 B.Arroyo..... 6.0 3 2 2 4/1 1 22 7/7 95 61 W
04/14 B.Arroyo..... 5.2 9 5 5 1/4 0 30 10/6 104 28
04/19 B.Arroyo..... 7.0 8 1 1 3/1 1 30 10/8 103 59
04/24 B.Arroyo..... 6.0 7 3 3 2/0 1 25 11/5 84 48 W
04/30 B.Arroyo..... 7.0 5 2 2 5/1 0 27 5/11 99 63 W
05/05 B.Arroyo..... 8.0 3 1 1 8/2 1 29 4/12 113 78 W
05/10 B.Arroyo..... 6.2 3 2 1 4/3 0 27 6/10 106 63

I don't know whether or not I'll have time to put a preview up of the series on my site, or not, but if I do I'll provide a link to it in here.

I think Arroyo starts serving his suspension tomorrow, so lets make this a good start.

I hope he wins tonight. I don't want him to break his record, plus a win would be good. The Yankees are on our tail and the O's are winning.

Saarloos started when Millar hit the walkoff at Fenway last week. Lets hope we have an equally good outcome today.

It's not much of a preview because I have to be somewhere, but:

I hope tonight is a blowout. We need to breakout and start pounding the ball like we have the past 2 seasons.

Bwhahaha. Good one. ;)

We'll win tonight. I can feel it. And I hope Bell keeps up his, uh, 3 game hitting streak. (Pitiful, I know)

Sorry, this is really random but I just found this and it's proof that ARod and Jeter are gay:

Um, no.

Yeah, its tough when you gotta be up at 630 to catch a bus that is supposed to come at 6:58 that really comes at 6:51. What the fuck is that. Ive gotta leave my house at 6:44 in the morning just to get there... Plus, fucking MCAS is tomorrow, so if Im tired Im pretty much fucked, especially since we are doing it first thing in the morning.

Since it will be late at night with nothing else to do and being bored I will watch it. It better be a blowout, so the game is boring and I fall asleep, because I dont want to be sucked into a long, close, good game. PLEASE MANNY AND DAVID AND EVERYONE. POUND THE BALL EARLY.

Yes please.

I've seen those pictures full size of Jeter / A-Rod. They're weird, but not gay haha.

No hit for Bellhorn, but that was one HELL of an At-Bat.

Damon up with an RBI chance.

EDIT: Damon is having some UGLY swings. And it looks like we're going to leave the sacks packed with Rentawreck at the plate. We have to be the #1 team in baseball with men left on... at least with getting the bases loaded and scoring ZILCH.

I hate these bases loaded strikeout a lot situations

3-2 Oakland on a Kotsay triple...

those men left on base are KILLING us right now.

Luckily Saarloos is over 100 pitches already.

Mueller... we had him at a high pitch count, chance to do something... 1st pitch inning ending double play... WHY?

Sox score 2 in top of 7th, but leave the bases loaded. 4-4.

Bellhorn singled, 2 RBI and then doubled! *dies* I soooo love him. :D And his BA went up to .234.

Tough one to watch, 13 LOB, Myers letting two lefties get on base and Matt Wilson, a career .143 hitter, coming up clutch for them. Brutal.

Observations:

I hate the west coast games (have I mentioned that?)
Myers didn't pitch that badly. Blooper and then the exploding bat hit.
Nixon looked terrible on that Kotsay double with the bases loaded. He was limping pretty good out there and it probably allowed the third run to score. I'm worried.
Win the next two and the Sox go home .500 for the trip. (Clement/Wells)
I can't remember a Sox offense that has as consistantly loaded the bases like this team. Manny's already been up like 7 times with the bases loaded. Anybody know where I can go to find out just how many times this team has loaded the bases this year?
Waking up to a loss after going to be with a lead is not as bad as watching the team lose. But it still sucks. I don't feel like going to work today.

I think we lead the leagues in stranding men on bases. It sucks. And the Yankees won. No good.

It appears for now we've switched places with the Yankees...we're losing, they're winning. Never fear, I have a good feeling about tonights game. Last time I had a good feeling that we were going to start winning was before game 2 in the Detroit series after the game 1 loss (We went on to win 8 of the next 9).
