The two walks -- back to back -- broke a streak of 31 2/3 innings without allowing a base on balls. Wells entered June with a 5.96 ERA, but in 22 innings in his three June starts has an ERA of 1.64. Wells is 8-2 (3.68 ERA) in 11 games (71 innings pitched) at Jacobs Field.

Sabathia is coming off his worst outing of the season. In a game the Indians needed him to pitch well, he disappointed them. He struggled with his control, and when he did throw strikes, he got hit hard. The Tribe needs more from the 24-year-old Sabathia, its ace, than outings like this one. He has to control the game -- and his own emotions.
