Jets laid an egg, but I somewhat saw that coming. It's going to take a few weeks for Penny to get this offense down. How apparent was it that we miss Jason Ferguson?

How about Big Fucking Ben today. Has a perfect passer rating. Willie Parker, our 3rd string RB, runs for 160+. Defense gets 4 turn overs ... what more could I ask for?

How about the Dolphins tearing the Broncos a new asshole?

I watched the Saints/Panthers game. Awesome game. That kick by Carney seriously grazed one of the uprights, thats how close it was.

I watched some of the Jets game today, and their offense was putrid. Everyone was touting them as a possible threat for the Pats, so far it look like they were terribly wrong.

Steelers looked really good today, I was skeptical. I think they'll win more than a few games this year.

Well, they did play the Titans.

I still think they'll challenge the Pats. Everyone is out of synch with the offense, new coordinator and all. In a few weeks when they start clicking, they'll be tough to beat. They are REALLY missing Jason Ferguson on that D-Line.

Eh, the Pats clicked right away, well, at least MUCH better than the Jets did, with new coordinaters on both sides of the ball. Defense just needs to solidify the pass coverage, but I was pretty happy with what I saw. Especially with the absence of Bruschi.

Yes, but the Jets had Pennington miss most of training camp while Brady got to learn the new offense a little quicker. Just saying, don't count out the Jets because of today.

Carnell "Cadillac" Williams had a nice debut for TB in a 24-13 win over Minnesota.

27 for 148, 1 TD

Culpeper turned the ball over 4 times. 2-picks, 2-fumbles

Getting a little tired of that mantra?

I kid. I can respect a thick-and-thin fan that looks for a positive light no matter what. Although, I'm struggling to find some spin for my Redskins despite their win today.

Ramsey is being held on a very tight leash. Portis is still Portis, but specialist players can't do anything without a good line on BOTH sides of the ball, which I am eager to see how the Redskins against teams with good lines.

The line is possibly the most important aspect to a football team, yet it is still the most under-appreciated, least recognized, and under-rated group out there. Where's the love?!?!

Tough loss for my Jets, at least now it'l be back to how it used to be, everyone expecting them to do bad, so it feels better when they do good. Today was an ajustment loss, and there is no such thing as a good loss, in any situation, so I'll just say this was an adjustment loss, and hopfully over the week, Herm can show the guys and they can work on what they did wrong. But I can't smack talk, but well be in it

The reason they lost was Pennington. I was watching the game, and he was not the Pennington of a few years ago. He has little arm strength, and was underthrowing guys with a lot of frequency. Thats going to be a big problem if he doesnt get that problem straightened out.

Colts/Ravens officially underway!!! Gunna be a great game. I think Colts will win, but I will heavily root for the Ravens because I feel the Colts are the biggest threat to the Pats for homefield. GO RAVENS!

lol, listen I'm only like this with teams that have a legitimate hope. You won't find me hyping the Rangers and Knicks this year. The Yanks and Jets are contenders.

Hey positive spin? John Hall made 3 field goals! I don't think he did that once with the Jets. Although, I think it must've hurt just a little bit to see Chad Morton bring a punt back for a TD today.

I'm sorry, but if you think the Jets have any chance at getting past The Steelers, The Pats, and The Colts, then you're dillusional. That's not even counting the Chargers, The Cheifs, The Ravens, The Jags, and The Bills. Sorry to tell ya but the Bills definatly leap frogged you, so that leaves you third in the division. Far from a contender, but hey I can respect blind faith.

But they will be a contender.... for a high draft pick.

I watched week 1 and that was enough for me to write off the Jets. Not so much because of Chad Pennington not being able to hold a football(which was hilarious btw), but because of how good the AFC is. If you honestly think the Jets are a better team than any of those I listed above then you're in for a rude awakening.

Heres the thing. Most of you aren't Jets fans, and based on the teams I think you like, you hate the Jets, so when the Jets take a loss like they did, the first thing you think is that their done. Its the same thing as if the Pats took a huge loss(as you all stated like the 31-0 loss), I could easily say they don't stand a shot, too many other good teams, ect.ect.ect. And those of you who accually know what your talking about and can understand the game, you'll know why your team lost, and why they are still contenders. Thats like me, I know more about the Jets than I do my little brother, and I know exactly why they lost and how they can win. Over the offseason, they made so many changes, including changing to shutgun, and if you watched the game, you can tell most of the problems happened with those exact changes. The defense started off bad, but after the 1st quarter, they were doing great. Its the offense that had too many changes to make where they couldn't preform well. And I for one am not nervouse of the Bills, they always start like 2-6, then win the next 7, and with a shot to make the playoffs they lose. I also don't expect many of you to accept what I'm saying becuase its the same thing as if I was asking you to understand why the Yankees are great and things like that. But I can tell you, if you do not expect the Jets to be a playoff team, and a superbowl, even division contender at that, you need to rethink and wait a few more weeks before you set your playoff teams in stone.

RedRuffing15, I didn't say that the Jets can't improve, I strongly suspect they will. The problem is they're in a tough division, and also in the AFC ( which I believe is significantly stronger than the NFC ). I beleive that they're a quarterback and 1 to 2 years away from being a strong contender. I haven't really seen the arm stregnth from Pennington since his injury. I don't know if its mechanics or from the injury, but just doesn't seem to get the zip like he used to. Still like the running game though, defense is going to take some time to gel. I casual or totally blind fan will look at the schedule at the beginning of the season and start penciling in wins left and right. Someone who follows the game, will look at all sorts of other criteria. Like who's hurt. It doesn't have be a star player, a key offensive or defensive lineman, punter, kicker, let alone running back or quarter back. Weather conditions ( rain, snow, temperature, etc ), the flu, etc. But I do have a problem projecting a team to be a force after they just got soundly beat.

Nothing really exciting went on this week. I wasn't really surprised with the results of any of the games (SF obviously, and the Bucs to some extent), and the overall quality of play was bad. The defenses are still way ahead of the offenses.
