I'm quite excited for this game. It's going to be on ESPN, Nomo gets to take shots at his old team, Pedro at his old team. Pedro doesn't have a good record against the Dodgers (1-3) but looks as though he's regained his confidence and will start his Pedro-domination again. Nomo is 3-6 on the season with a 7.33 ERA, and hasn't gone more than 6 innings in a start this year, this is his second start since coming off the DL.

Hehe, all I can picture now is that messed up ESPN commercial from a few years back, where some weird-ass alien looking thing just whispers "Hideeeeeoo Nooooomoooo", and then the ESPN logo flashes on the screen.

In any case, it should be an interesting game. I'm surprised that Nomo hasnt been doing well, considering how effective he has been in the past few seasons.

Pedro is always looking for revenge against the Dodgers, or a chance to impress them to return playing there, so he should pitch very well tonight.

Hopefully we can overcome last night's catastrophe. :)

BUMP, gotta keep it in order

Nomo has been downright terrible this year. (My Fantasy Baseball Team's ERA is proof enough.) Hopefully he can get back on track, BUT PLEASE WAIT UNTIL AFTER TODAY'S GAME!

yanks down 2-0 in the bottom 9th with giambi, posada and matsui due up. hoffman should be coming in

WTF. The yankees manage to tie it. We have a perfectly good shot at improving a game, and then the padres just blow it.

holy crap, youd think the padres can hold a 3 run lead. but no, they have to allow 4 runs in the bottom 12th to let the fuckin yankees win.

I really hope Pedro is the same Pedro as the last game Nasty.

I remember last year all of the ESPN games were on NESN for us here in Boston. Is this going to be the case again this year?

CalvnHobs6
06-13-2004, 06:23 PM
We'll find out in 40 minutes, won't we? :D I'm as curious as you. I'm pretty sure Jerry said on friday that he wasn't announcing today, which leads me to believe it's only on ESPN.

93 in the first inning! Halelujah!

Pedro
06-13-2004, 07:25 PM
These 1st inning runs are a complete mystery to me, yet I know exactly why they are happenning. Why does it take them to score a run for Pedro to throw over 90? Just throw it anyway! Dominate!... enough of these 86 mph fastballs getting knocked for hits. AARGH.

06-13-2004, 07:31 PM
I dont know why it is, but Pedro always has early game difficulty. I'm glad he's over the hump, and I'm glad the game is now tied.

Also, why the bold?

Pedro
06-13-2004, 07:32 PM
Because I was "yelling"... I like using bold rather than caps. ;)

Pedro looks sharp, again. I think we can calm ourselves a little now. Especially sicne he's hitting low-mid 90's with that fastball.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 07:58 PM
It ain't looking like low 90s... did you see Roberts' swing? It look like he was swinging at a 102 mph fastball, not 92. Sure looked like one to him after being fed about 4 straight curves and change-ups.

JMDurron

I'm getting tired of these 3-2 counts by Pedro. He'll be gone in the 6th at this rate, and we used the pen a bit yesterday.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 08:18 PM
Pedro is looking about as sharp as a doorknob in this 4th inning... THROW A F***ING STRIKE, PEDRO!

yeszir
06-13-2004, 08:19 PM
Pedro has 66 pitches through 4. I don't think he'll be gone in the 6th, but he could certainly be a little bit more economical with his pitches. But whatever, so long as we dont lose, it makes no difference to me. :D

LMFAO@Beltre... that curveball was sick.

Pedro

Man, I forgot how extremely boring of a pitcher Hideo Nomo is.

YanksHater213
06-13-2004, 08:39 PM
way to go gabe. first hit this season with meaning. keep it up

2-1 sox

pokey pokey pokey, another big hit. seems like most of his hits have been big

What a surprise...Nomo chased before the 4th inning ended. He's just having a terrible season. Pedro's pitching fine, just too many pitches.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 09:19 PM
Pedro has looked a whole lot sharper than this, and he's gotten some luck on his side tonight. I'll take it anyhow. I hope he comes out for another inning... where is his PC at?

yeszir
06-13-2004, 09:23 PM
Pedro's at 95 pitches, he could go another inning easily.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 09:25 PM
And he will... I had taken my eyes off the game for a bit and wasn't sure if the Pen was getting busy.

Get a nice double play here, Pete.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 09:33 PM
Woah! Pokey! :o

Jon Miller scared the crap out of me on that pitch earlier... :D

"CURVEBALL!!!"

God dang, calm down!

yeszir

Damn nice play right there by Pokey. Thats why we got him I guess.

JMDurron
06-13-2004, 09:36 PM
Pokey with a catch that justifies his salary by itself.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 09:37 PM
By September Nomar should be able to make BOTH plays on those balls that were hit towards him. I was about to go ballistic on him if Pokey didn't save that inning.

peskypole
06-13-2004, 10:01 PM
I'm pretty sure Pokey got 5 feet of air on that play. Well, maybe 4.

Pedro
06-13-2004, 10:07 PM
Finish this!

Pedro
06-13-2004, 10:09 PM
RED SOX WIN 4-1!

Pedro improves to 7-3... Foulke picks up his 13th.

Pedro has also lowered his ERA from 4.40 to 3.77 in just two outings. Imagine what he can do with another 14-15.

CalvnHobs6
06-13-2004, 10:13 PM
The best part was that Pokey surprised even himself on that leap into God knows where to catch that ball. That was among the best grabs I've ever seen.

Well chaulk up yet another good performance by Pedro i only saw a few mistakes, but other then that this was one on the good performance by the whole team.

So it is on to Colorado and there we will see the return of Trot to the lineup which if Trot in his first start is like any good game from last year, then i can see a very good game, because of the Ball Park.

I hadn't seen Pokey's play until just now on mlb.com, and I can say that it is the most amazing jumping defensive play that I have ever seen. He earned his salary and more with that. Damn!
