Schilling- 11-4, 3.08 era

Harden- 3-5, 4.05 era

Schilling is going for his 12th win, and the redsox are going for their 3rd straight. If Schilling can pitch like himself, and the sox can keep up decent run support, than the game should be ours. If we sweep the A's, we will face Texas with tons of momentum. These two series with Oakland and Texas are possibly the most important games of the year so far.

Go sox!

I thought the Yankees series was the most important series thus far, but we really do need to win-out if we want to really get the momentum going. Without a doubt, the upcoming series is very important.

A sweep would be huge for the sox :)

Bottom Line:

A win is a win. Every win is important, and every game is important. I was probably one of the people saying "this is the most important game so far" against the Yankees, but mostly because I wanted the Sox to pound them.

These games are important, because Oakland and Texas are Wild Card contenders. If Boston can win tonight, they'll be tied with Oakland for the Wild Card lead.

6 games behind the Yankees, 4 games to go before the break. My goal of being < 5 games behind the Yankees at the break is possible....

Let's hope Tampa continues to be hot, and the Sox play good baseball over the next 4 games!

Schill v Harden...should be a good game.

That would've been an easy fly-out in any other ballpark on Earth, including a little league park.

On that topic, the Sox should do something like SBC Park in San Francisco once the Big Dig is done and traffic isn't so crazy. Some nice, waterfront ballpark in Southie that's a nice, big pitcher's park. That's what we need. Keep Fenway open and maintained as a tourist trap and open the new park. Get Fidelity as a corporate sponsor. Fidelity Field sounds fantastic. I like it. I'm hired! :D

I was at the game so I didn't see any replays. Was it a bad throw? Or did Damon make a great slide? Exciting game, would've rathered seen it 7-1 though.

The throw was right on the money, but Kotsay made a two second bobble in CF before releasing it, allowing Damon to get in safely.

Damon nearly pulled an A-Gon slide..
you know, in game 6 of the WS when Gonzalez had that nice slide?

I'm with you guys that I would rather have seen a 7-1 win (or even 7-3), but this team should be on an emotional high after a win like this...They give up a big lead, it's easy to get down on yourself, but they game back and got the win, and that's all that matters. Seems like Foulke's going through a little rough patch lately, hopefully he recovers nicely.

Lots of momentum going into the Texas series....love to see that!

Hopefully it carries into the Texas series!

During the three game series with oakland the redsox scored 30 runs. That is a display of great hitting and power. If the sox can keep the run support going, we should still be able to win even with Lowe or Arroyo pithcing.
