Jorge Posada has a torn hamstring tendon in his left knee and will be sidelined at least a few days.
A DL stint isn't expected to be necessary, but the Yankees will add a catcher prior to Friday's game, either Wil Nieves or Koyie Hill. Posada might be ready to go early next week. Kelly Stinnett will start in his place. May. 25 - 8:51 pm et

more injuries for the yanks

Wait, is the tendon different from a "hamstring"? Even if it is, I would think that having a torn ANYTHING, would cause more than a few days of injury.

ya i dont understand how you can "tear" a tendon, especially in your hamstring, and only miss a few games.

i still think he'll go on the DL

That doesn't add up. I mean I gues it's possible if the tear is tiny.

it is likely a small tear, basically equivalent to a grade 2 strain. Here's the deal, he will play and likely show small effects from it, but he is gonna have to spend significant amounts of time as the DH and only catch rarely. We need to get a 3rd catcher, someone who can play everyday and not be a complete liability. Our internal options at catcher blow....

I think that was more about how POSADA IS A BITCH rather than him getting hurt.
Sucks he got hurt, it sucks when anyone gets hurt, but regardless POSADA IS A BITCH

Well this sucks. I admire him as a clutch, gutty, and clean ballplayer. Not to mention, it'll hurt my fantasy team.

Hey, we got Russell Martin and he is way better than Dioner Navarro. Take him back if you want to. :)
