Good job, yankees for booing Carlos Delgado (what a jackass this guy is), also I like the way the let servicemen in for free, and play God Bless America. When the Blue Jays come to Fenway and if anyone's there please boo as loud as you can at Delgado. Curse at him, throw something at him, he should worship this country for paying him 20 million dollars a year, instead he turns his back at it.

I missed something....What's wrong with Delgado?

He's made several anti American statements, and several anti-war statements. The war statements I don't care about, but when he starts saying that "damned country" and refuses to stand when the National anthem is played is something I have a problem with.

This is the first I've heard of this stuff...where did you hear that?

Jim Rome and there's an article on foxsports.com

For those who don't know what's going on (like me) here's the article:

http://msn.foxsports.com/story/2595942

This is a sensative subject all around, especially in New York. They boo everyone (shit, they booed Jeter in April)...

Delgado has the right to his opinion, and I respect him for standing up for himself. Mostly I hear him say anti-war statements (in the article) NOT anti-America statements.

The anti american statements I heard about were on Jim Rome, knowing Rome this may not be a good source, but that's were I heard that.

I threw up in my mouth when I saw the title of this thread...

Anyways, Delgado is free to say whatever he wants, just as we are free to chant "Yankees Suck" and "Jeter Swallows". Personally, I'm not offended at all...in fact, I feel bad for Delgado: he has to spend 7 months/year in CANADA.

At least he's taking a stance on something, and isn't just an MLB robot. Freedom of speech.

Baseball players should just play baseball, just like actors they don't have a clue what their talking about.

Who are you to tell him what to think?

CrespoBlows

I didn't tell Delgado anything to think. I disagree with his anti american statements, he is free to say what ever he wants about the war. I take what ever he says not to seriously

I agree with him about the war it's jsut stupid but you can't insult America the way he did it's jsut not right he's a very blessed person he should learn to understand that.

The Yankees and the Yankee fans can kiss my ass. And if I ever ran into Jim Rome on the street, I'd punch the living shit out of him.

I saw nothing anti-American about what Delgado said.

I don't have a problem with Delgado and his quiet protest to the war. He could be out there like so many other celebrities running his mouth day in and day out about it, but he chooses to silently protest. Thats what this country is all about, being able to express your own views whatever way you want.

While we are talking about the whole "God Bless America" ordeal in NY, is it just me or does anyone else feel the Georgey-Porgey uses this song strategically to ice visiting pitchers going into the bottem of the 7th. It just seems like something devious he would pull just because he can.

No, I think it's moronic also, but I try not to get my nose into politics.

I'm actually changing my mind, the whole thing was overblown. I saw the highlights of the game, and I couldn't hear any boos whatsoever. So fuck the Yankees, and fuck Delgado.
