We need Schilling to have a good game, plain and simple.

I heard Terry Francona say Dave Roberts would probably start today.

Doug M will start at first, Millar will probably DH.

We honestly should beat up on Rob Bell tonight.

I would agree but i am not going too type it out.....Last time every one here said schilling was a lock--we lost.

I am in an embree hate over drive world, but that aside. The devil rays are just what the doctor ordered.

I dont understand the juggling at all, though and i think one reason our defense is so god awful is that there is no consistency and no one plays one position long enough to build any flow. Thank you Theresa Francona.

speaking of embree, why isnt everyone yelling about the bullpen...We shoulda got Mota from the dodgers...

If I hear the management yap about our ERA one more time I am going to scream (again)...when you give up the most unearned runs in the majors, of course, your ERA is going to look better. DUH.

Between Francona and our middle relief we have given away enough games to put us contention with the Yankmees, I dont get why poepl arent screaming about this.
I am sick of the lets wait for williamson battle cry.

1/2 game out devil rays and detroit coming up and the devil rays again....LETS WIN SOME!

I agree with you, sara, that we should have gotten a pitcher, but let's try to keep trade talks in the correct threads....

Tonight it's Schilling vs Bell. We've got to start a winning streak.

Lots of teams go on fire when they go down to Tampa, but a win is a win.

Great game by Schill. This is what playoff caliber teams do: Win the games you're SUPPOSED to win.

Great win tonight!!! Lets keep the ball rolling in the right direction.

On another topic, right now Sox fans should be praying the Yankees win the next two from Oakland. An A's win right now doesn't help the Sox much, yes even when they play the yankees. The division is pretty much lost, so cross your fingers that the A's get whooped the next few games. We need to keep winning as the A's face relatively bad teams this month.

A's Series over August

NYY (3 games)
MIN (4 games)
DET (3 games)
KC (3 games)
BAL (7 games)
TB (6 games)
CHW (1 game)

Even though Texas holds the wild card lead? Personally I'd rather see the A's on top of that division and battle Texas. Texas is not a playoff team and the sox should be able to beat them. If they win that division I lose all respect for Oakland.

I know Texas doesn't have the pitching to survive late into the playoffs, but their offense is unbelievable. We has trouble with them in Texas earlier this season, and if we face them as a wild card team we would be playing them in Texas to start. I would feel more confident facing a team we have dominated this season (A's) to start off the playoffs. Let the team that will give us the most trouble out of the two face the yankees and hopefully do some damage to them, if not take them out.

I would prefer Texas also.
