According to yahoo box scores:
HOME RUNS: BOS - MANNY RAMIREZ (1) OFF MIKE HAMPTON IN THE 1ST

Thats his first of the spring. Cause for concerns? I doubt it, after all, its only spring training, isnt it? :)

All that matters is that this dinger was in an actual major league ballpark. I just hope Mueller's elbow is ok after that error.

Rule of thumb:
If something bad happens: "its only spring training"
If something good happens: "YESSSSS! This will NO DOUBT continue!"

I dont think its a big deal that he has only hit one dinger (today) in ST. He's manny. He's perpetually out of it. He'll bounce back and start ripping balls soon enough.

So very true. Since Foulke, Petey, and pretty much the rest of the bullpen has been struggling this spring I think we shouldn't really think twice about it. We know (and hope) everybody will do their jobs once the season comes.

Manny is the least of my concerns. He's going to be a goofball like usual but he's also going to be one of the best and most feared hitters in the game.

Four Zero Six,

I think you need to take up a career in being a psychic.

Yea. But unforunately, that guy hasn't posted since April 23rd. I think we all knew that Manny would have a great year. Spring training is really never a great indicator of things to come, and he really showed that this year.

lol good point

I don't like watching spring training. It's like preseason football. No matter what happens you can't tell if they'll do it in the regular season because they might not be trying or be playing all the bench players.

Like the pats, they went 1-3 in preseason and now look at them.

Exactly.

Preseason is just warm up time.

dont say that yet, we got off to a great start the year after our first superbowl win in 2001, and then we got off to a great start in '02 and we blew it. final record of 9-7 and we missed the playoffs.

Still, we don't have much competition coming up.

Ravens and Seahawks are the 2 good teams we have to face.

Chiefs and Jets aren't too bad but we can beat them.

I'd say we've got a good chance of having a great record this year.

i do too, im just saying its too early to think that we are completely owning. if tom brady went down we could be looking at 4-12. wont happen because we have others who can step up, but the thought of that kind of a POSSIBLE, but VERY UNLIKELY record is horrifying.

no doubt we repeat as champs, down the stretch we are just tooo good.

Yeah your right. An injury of Dillon or Brady or an important defensive player could put our chances down the drain.
