Could be a ploy, but Cashman says that he already has an acceptable deal on the table, he just will look for something better. Sunday is the deadline to exercise his option, and it looks like they really want to get this done by then.

I hope the exercise it and keep him from coming to Boston as I've heard some say, send him elsewhere, save theo the grief and Tito the headache.

I dont care what we get for him, as long as we can dump the $13Mil and keep him away from Boston. Sending him to the NL would be a plus, too.

it depends on what the yankees want back. If the yankees will take a used tube of KY and a bucket of KFC in return, then they wont have to eat anything.
