Who's most likely to get beltran? I would say the yanks because he wants to go there already, and bernie said he would let go of the CF spot to him. But its still kind of a toss up.

Yankees or Dodgers if they let Finley go.

I say he ends up with the Padres.

I'm saying the Yankees, because they can afford to pay him the 15 million he wants, but wouldn't the Yankees be better off resigning El Duque and signing 2 pitchers instead?

yes beltran is given as to going after, but theres rumors they might go after pedro, pavano, and clement. They should resign duque, depends how well he pitches in the playoffs.

this is why pedro needs to resign with us...

he probably will, i hope he comes here though, as you might know we need help in our starting rotation.

Mussina,Brown,Vazquez,Duque, Lieber-ok but could be better. We dont really have an ace like the sox do with schilling and pedro.

mussina, brown, vazquez, and now duque, are all aces. theyre just not having the best years possible...theyll come around for you...as much as i dont want them to...for the yanks. besides...brown came back from the DL and has been pitching lights out...i dont know whats up with mussina..but hes still damn good...is he hurt? also, vazquez is still an ace...just not when hes on the yankees. you see what happens when they go to the yanks? they look good with the team theyre with, but when they get put into all the talent they just fall into their own talent pool....theyre pitching the same as they always have been but u dont notice the difference because your too damn good.

I disagree on el duque, I think this might be his best year ever in his career.

actually i didnt make it clear i meant to exclude him from not having the best year cause i had established he had became an ace...but i do agree with you. easily the best year of his career.

which is strange because when the year started I thought he was on another team, or out of baseball completly. I never would have thought he would be back and pitching extremly well. I don't think he has given up over 4 runs.

Time Out- Are you guys arguing that the other's starting pitching is better?

hell no. he said he doesnt have that good of a rotation and i just said many teams would kill to have it.

The yankees have an ok rotation i hate to admit it though but it will never beat the red sox's rotation althugh the yankees have a very good bullpen from quantrill to gordon to rivera

I brought up the possibilty of instead of Beltran the Yankees should go get some pitching.

Mussina - not an ace declining
Brown- great pitcher, staying the same
Vazquez- should only get better
Loaiza- this guy sucks
Hernadez- can he keep this up? probably injury prone though

If you look at the staff of the Yankees it isn't great, but it still is decent enough to compete in October. The Yankee have a ton of "names". Brown, Vazquez, and Hernadez are the Yankees 1-2-3. Does that really scare you? They'd be better off letting someone else sign Beltan, and getting 2 pitchers such as the best young lefty in Odalis Perez (the Sox should definatly pursue this guy), and a Clement or Pavano. The Yankees have a superb offense, and a decent bullpen, but that starting rotation is the Achillies heel.

Yea but bernie's not cuttin it any longer, he's lost some steps in the outfield. After that the yanks might go after clement, ortiz, pavano and pedro. Blowaizas out next year. I'm not mad with the trade though because contreras had to go also. I want them to get pedro, pavano and beltran.
