Not to be Mr. Negative, but I swear... If the Sox make the playoffs and they lose game 5 or 7 of any series because of Sveum, I'll kill myself right there and then.

Last year somebody asked me how I thought the playoffs would go. I said this:

"It will happen one of three ways:
The Sox will win.
The Sox will lose.
The Sox will lose in the most painful way possible"

At the time I was thinking of Walker being the Bill Buckner of my era. Now I'm worried about Sveum being the Grady Little of this year. I tells ya, I can see it now. :(

im talking in general since around a few weeks before the all-star break. he had been having a few decent weeks since then but now hes back to his run giving up ways. he really needs another pitch or two to be able to become a better pitcher

Didnt catch this game, my being in france and all, but it didnt sound good from zhat i hear, despite the win. Sveum blew ANOTHER call? Thats incredible. And foulke sounded shaky, but at least it was a W. Now if all the other teams could just start losing...

yea...sveum sended him home while the ball was already in the LF's glove. he threw a strike to the plate and mueller was out by 10 steps. thankfully shmuck'em heard the boos after sending him.

o, and also...mueller got thrown out on what would and could have been earl snyder's first ML rbi. it was his first ML hit too.

Dale Sveum is gonna be the the grady little of our time and whoever gets sent home is gonna be blamed and considered the bill buckner of our time

Lol, Grady Little "of our time", since 2003 was oh-so-long ago.

I think he sent him, because he underestimated Gross' arm, he doesn't have a great one so he sent him.

i wouldnt have sent him if it was johnny damon in LF  . both their arms suck but even if johnny damon has the ball when a baserunner is rounding third ill take the guy with the ball anyday. mueller was out by 10 steps. on a bad throw, maybe 2 or 3 steps. the fact is...he was out no matter what unless the ball got past the catcher.
