Any and all types of classic rock. My favorite "modern" band is Wilco though.

Wow. You sir, have good taste in music, for Rock at least. I've bolded the bands that I like as well in your post. Moe, for the record, is absolutely amazing.

As for punk rock and emo and rap..... not so much. Not a huge fan.

why thank you. i usually give every type of music a chance, then i give it another one.

honestly, i don't believe there is a such thing as bad music. it's just perception. people need to realize that there are good and bad sides to everything and that not everyone has an ear for everything. somehow i was gifted with good ears i guess.

i mean lets be honest, i don't absolutely LOVE every band i listed, ie: godsmack, their first cd was great, i loved it, but i havne't followed them since, same with creed.

bah, i'm just in a bad mood cus the sox lost. i'm going to bed.

I like all music pretty much, after living in Florida for 5 years and being driven to school by a redneck i have deeloped a strong like for country music. It's very weir d my dad thinks i am crazy when i am listening to the radio and switch from a country station to a rap station.

I enjoy quite a bit of country music, as well as bluegrass. I'm a big fan of any acoustic stuff, as well as Christian and mainstream alternative.

Some bands/artists I like: Nickel Creek, Diamond Rio, Phil Vassar, Switchfoot, Jars of Clay, Silers Bald, Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss + Union Station, Josh Turner. I aslo have an appreciation for Irish music and classical compositions. I basically like music that requires talent and craftsmanship. Nickel Creek is a perfect example of that. Good stuff!

I can't stand any rap (lowercase r), heavy metal, or most punk. But, I consider myself to have a pretty deep knowledge of different kinds of music. Music is a wonderful thing, and I couldn't live life without it.

i hate it when people say that they only like music that takes talent. even though i'm not a fan of some bands/groups/artists it doesn't mean that they are not talented.

i have never heard of ANY of the bands/groups you have listed. why? could it be that they are not talented enough to be popular? see what i mean?

every musician is talented in their own way. you can't stand rap etc because you don't have an ear for it. for that, i pity you.

I'm into really any kind of rock. My favorite bands are Linkin Park, Yellowcard, Blink 182, Switchfoot, AC/DC, Van Halen, Metallica, Green Day, AFI, Foo Fighters, and Counting Crows.

you OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about music. you might not enjoy listening rap but to call it crap is another thing.

i enjoy listening to linkin park, they are a talented group. they wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for talent. BUT, did you know that they were originally supposed to be a boy band like the back street boys? what do you think of the back street boys? yeah, that's what i thought.

if you actually took away the ignorant wall blocking your ears and listened to some good rap you'll realize that rap is not crap. how can you say tupac is crap when he's touched and influenced millions, how can you say eminem is crap when he's sold more albums than linkin park ever will? how can you say rap is crap when rap is dominating the music industry this day and age? it obviously isn't crap.

read my earlier posts and you'll HOPEFULLY one day be able to enjoy more than ONE type of music.

john

p.s.- i'm not a bigger rap fan than i am a rock fan. i enjoy both types of music equally.

I like pretty much all forms of rock, i.e. alternative, punk, metal, acoustic, folk, etc.
I go through stages, and my current stage is indie. Bands like the Shins, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill and stuff like that. But really, I'm open to anything you won't hear on a top twenty station.

Rap is crap. Give me good old fashion Rock and Roll. What will Linkin Park be remembered for? Nothing.

Best quote ever:

" did you know that they were originally supposed to be a boy band like the back street boys?"

No! Really? :D

Thank god they surpassed expectations. BTW, new Interpol out this week.

you know, i used to say that rap is crap too. when i was 15 yrs old and in the 9-10th grade.

it also depends on what kind of rap you are talking about. most people that love rock etc love the beastie boys. the beastie boys are RAP. stuff like G-unit is terrible in my opinion. it's sad that many people think of them when they think of rap.

when i think of rap i think of the gods of rap. 2pac, biggie, nas, dre, krs-one, eminem etc.. not the silly no name stuff that gives rap a bad name. but then again, there is good and bad rock also.

I recommend everyone listen to Meatloaf. Weird, but good. Listen to "paradise by the dashboard light". Such a good song.
