I'll let the payrolls speak for themselves.

Money is not an excuse for the Sox, I'm not one of those Sox fans. I'm more realistic. But still -- the fact is, the Yankees have more and spend more money than any other team in the league, by a very large margin.

of course what you say is true... but i hear plenty of sox fans cry that the yankees bought giambi and sheffield and mussina... and it's hypocritical when you realize that the sox bought the best part of their team in schilling, pedro, ortiz and manny...

The Red Sox and Yankees both buy players.

But when you think about it, the Yankee payroll is over $60 million HIGHER than Boston's. Look through the posts, and if you won't find me complaining about the Yankees high payroll, I'll be surprised.... But you cannot deny that the Yankees buy players to a higher degree than anyone else.

Let's face the facts:
No other team could afford a $32 million mistake like Contreras.
No other team can afford to overpay their shortstop.
No other team can afford to overpay their third baseman.
Why isn't A-Rod playing in NY right now: Money.

The Red Sox buy players, nobody here can deny that. Their limit is higher than MOST MLB teams. The Yankees, on the other hand, have no limit.

i'd be curious to see how the Yankees payroll would compare if you replaced the contracts for jeter, williams, posada and rivera with cabrera, varitek and foulke...

i am willing to admit that the Yanks outspend the rest of baseball, but surely they should get a pass on the players that they groomed... how can you critisize a team for retaining homegrown talent...

as for the A-rod trade... the Sox had plenty of opportunity to get him, but your ownership (and people say Steinbrenner's a prick) was too cheap to pay up, but at the same time has no problem charging ridiculous prices for green monster seats...

buddy, first off those are there too put more seats in the stadium for more money to keep on pace with the sox, and theres no denying that we spend a lot too, i know we do. you just have a different owner. and what the hell is the "sucks"...that doesnt even make sense man, skankees and spankmees at least have some sense because theyre nouns...and the sox dont suck. last time i checked, we hacked away at the 10.5 game deficit and still are, now only 3.5 games back, 9 game winning streak, and have a larger lead in the wild card then you have on us.

also, those who look to payroll to insult the yankees are stupid...and thats coming from a sox fan holding off bias which isnt too common aside from many posters here who take bias out of arguments. every team "purchases" talent, which is why saying the yankees have a higher payroll is ridiculous. we purchase schilling, foulke, ramirez, whoever just like you do, you just have a higher cap.

thats really probably one of the only smart responses that are possible.

They locked up Jeter for way more than he's worth though. at $18.6 million, he's more expensive than EVERY player on the Sox roster but one: Manny Ramirez.

You can't tell me Jeter's more valuable than Pedro, or Schilling. Jeter makes more than Lowe(4.5), Wakefield(4.4), Millar (3.3), Mueller (2.1), Bellhorn (.5) and Keith Foulke (3.5) COMBINED.

Imagine where the Sox would be without those guys.

Jeter is one player. He can't play all the positions. I named three starting pitchers, 3 starting positional players, and our closer.

Look buddy, the Yankees are in a stratosphere in their own, did you see the visa commerical? It's the truth. The Yankees won't ever get back to the "homegrown" team they once had. If Steinbrenner's in charge it won't happen. Back in 1990 when Steinbrenner was banned from the Yankee clubhouse for 2.5 years, former Yankee GM Gene Micheal, was allowed to REBUILD the Yankees, by building the farm system back up. Steinbrenner won't allow that, and he's broken through the protection the Yankees once had from him. He makes ill advised signings, and trades, he really doesn't give a damn what Cashman has to say anymore. Steinbrenner would have traded Pettite and Williams along time ago. This Yankee team will be a lot different years down the road, they have NO chemstry, they eventually will have 0 homegrown stars. They'll go out and buy every single player possible, the Red Sox are going the opposite way, stressing a good farm system. Don't call us a bunch of hypocrites, even though we spend money, it's not even close to te Yankees.

WHO CARES ABOUT PAYROLL?? my point is, and i understand yours with the yankees abilities to spend whatever they want because they wont run out, but the point is payroll doesnt mean shit in an argument. EVERY team, and i mean EVERY, TRIES to buy quality players with whatever they have. the yankees TRY to, they TRIED and didnt get schilling...we did. my point is, spending means shit, we can have the most expensive player in baseball, and people will criticize that even if we dont spend as much the yankees. so it doesnt matter.

You could upload the image to an image upload site like imagebucket or something, do a google search, and then link from there. Otherwise stick with the attached images n00b.
