Well, I'm back for more punishment.

At least the Red Sox have faced Brazelton before today!

We got 8 runs off him in just 1.2 innings.

Wake is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA against Tampa this year...

This team's gotta wake up!

Wow, shut up.

Anyway, Wake is looking a bit suspect, but we're winning at least, right? And Manny has finally become the speed demon we all know he is...

Excuse me, make that two doubles and two runs. :D

OK, who's this guy on the mound the last two months and what has he done with Tim Wakefield? WTF, mate?

Oh where, oh where has 2002 Tim Wakefield gone? Oh where, oh where can he be?

where he should be now is in the clubhouse showering and thinking about what he is going to do in retirement. He blows.

He should definitely be in the bullpen for the playoffs. I think it's safe to say that Bronson has locked up the #3 starter spot while Lowe and Wake are battling to be that one guy who starts Game 4 and never gets another start the entire series.

Why announce the score when there are 4 other people who are watching the game as they type?

-4 we gotta get this thing going...this pitcher of theirs sucks and he sweats like an animal.

i dont know why anyone can be high on wake. you never know what you're gonna get with him...he really better start to turn it around by the next start or he and the red sox will have serious trouble in the post season.

we wont use him in the post season, maybe long relief but I think you have seen the last of wakefiled for awhile.God willing.

empirestrikesback26
09-15-2004, 07:55 PM
geeze you give up on him that quicky?

yeszir
09-15-2004, 07:55 PM
I'd be all for Lowe taking the 3rd starter spot if we make the playoffs. He showed great resolve last year getting that awesome strikeout to win it in Anaheim, and in his last 4 starts he's lowered his ERA .31 points and hasn't given up more than 3 runs. He's pitching extremely well.

Bronson could go 4th, if we do indeed use a 4 man rotation. I'm just afraid that he doesn't have enough experience to pitch effectively in the post season.

sarasoxfan
09-15-2004, 07:55 PM
i think lowe will be the number three guy assuming we make the playoffs, and bronson that guy he might start if necessary.

the fact that you had to use the bullpen is an added plus for the yanks this wekend. Don't rain on it.

Right, because teams never use their bullpens in games? Do the yankees automatically win if their opposition uses their bullpen a few days before?

empirestrikesback26
09-15-2004, 09:33 PM
No but you have to admit, a fresh bullpen should perform better.

Hey guys,

Last night's game was UGLY. Tampa kept battling, but you have to give the Sox credit: They stayed positive, truly battled in this game, and most importantly: Got the win.

Timmy struggled again. Definately hurting his chances to start in the playoffs lately... we can only hope he'll turn it around!

Another positive from yesterday's game: AFTER Leskanic, the bullpen threw 3 2/3 hitless innings!

Anaheim lost to Seattle, 1-0. 5.5 back in the wild card. Anything that helps bring any magic number down to 0 is a good thing.

An ugly win is a win, that's about all that can be said about last night.

Bren25x
09-16-2004, 09:51 AM
What is the magic # for a playoff birth? anyone?

elsrbueno
09-16-2004, 11:05 AM
According to mlb.com, Anaheim's Elimination # (from the wild card) is 13.

Considering they are the closest team in contention with us, I would say that's our magic #.

Which means (for anyone who doesn't know what a magic # is):

Any combination of Red Sox wins and Anaheim losses that totals 13 games will effectively eliminate Anaheim from Wild Card contention. Once Boston's magic number is 0.... They've clinched that spot.

uh huh? I would much rather take mo over the foulker. I would take flash over embree. Basically the yankees bullpen is slightly better.

stocker323
09-16-2004, 02:12 PM
The Yankee bullpen has been overworked all season and it will come back to bite you in the playoffs.

CrespoBlows
09-16-2004, 02:32 PM
Gordon, or Williamson? That's even. The rest of your bullpen sucks. It's just Gormo now. Quantrill sucks, 4.33 era, and that's considered elite?!
