As much as I'd like to say to you, "Don't be so pessimistic!" I just can't bring myself to have any faith in Tim Wakefield. Wake's september:
4 starts, 0-3, 26 hits in 20 innings, 13 walks to 15 k's, and the two standouts:
1.95 WHIP, 9.45 ERA.
Ugh. If this is a cold streak, it's one of the worst I've ever seen. Wake needs to snap out of it tonite... problem is I don't think he can.

He's 21 years old, and usually he shows great command in the minors with a 3.5:1 ratio. He reminds of a young Tom Glavine.

i'm sure he did, but I wont give him any credit for anything, becasue I hate him so much.

ortiz on second, millar on first ..1 down, go sox.

PS: I hate complimenting yankees but I cant remember the last time Torre has made a snafu--or done something as stupid as Francona does on a daily basis.

Belli had the homerun earlier. Sure, Tek had more at bats against whoever it was, I completely forget now, but I think Tito made the right call there.

I think the Sox are trying to break the record for most consecutive games with at least 1 inning with the bases loaded and 0 or 1 out without scoring. I know, I know, it doesn't happen every game, but it seems to happen frequently enough that I notice it. I guess the solution is... ummm... uhhhh....

Pinch hit Pokey when the bases are loaded? He could hardly do worse.

Ehh. Lay off Foulke.

BTW - According to NBC.com, Ben Affleck is the host of SNL tonight in an all new episode. Is it the season premier? Anyway, there's good to be at least one Red Sox fan skit to be had. I don't mind the guy so I'll probably watch. Just an FYI.

You are correct. My bad. Oh well...

Already watched A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back today on shiny new DVD. I guess I'll finish off with Return of the Jedi.. Sox up 6-5. The Empire is going down one way or the other!

Tek double, Sox up 8-5. This just makes me more sick about last night  .

BTW, the Star Wars DVD set is totally worth it. Everything about it is better. I was blown away by The Empire Strikes Back - the best of all the Star Wars movies.

Wow it was good to see them have a big inning. Lescanic pitched great. Mirabelli was a stud. Tek got a big pinch hit. And Francona got tossed and Brad Mills managed us to a win. This win insures the MFY cannot celebrate the AL East title at Fenway tomorrow.

Don't you think those things are a little irrelevant? I mean, we have absolutely owned the A's at every turn. Whether it be at Fenway or at Network Associates, we play .900 ball against the A's. Based upon this season (and a little of last) that is the team I want to face in the ALDS. Texas would be nice too (mostly because their rotation is pathetic), but I'd much rather go with the team the Sox have had proven and well documented success.
