Well, we might have a season to burn and find out.

My guess is, he wouldn't play 600 anyways as Chavis will play more 2B to make room for a kid or two at 1B.

It was a hypothetical scenario. Marco Hernandez at the plate is a combination of Shea Hillenbrand and Alex Cora.

He possesses Hillenbrand's hatred of waiting to see a second pitch, and combines that with the sheer raw power of Cora....

    LOL.

I'm still hanging onto my thin thread of hope for the guy.

He's a Major League-caliber role player, which is more than can be said for most people. He's a good backup for 2b and 3B and, in a pinch, SS.

Overall I think Lin is the better player of the two.

Lin is better defensively, and I guess he can play OF, too, but I'm clinging to the hope Marco can hit over .720- something Lin will likely not do.

Jhonathan Diaz pitched a gem for Salem ( 6 IP 0 ER 2 H 3 BB 8 Ks), and the team came back to score 3 in the 9th to tie the game, but they lost in 10.

    Casas went 2-5.

Johnathan Diaz had an ERA of 8.22 in early May. He ended the season at 3.86.

In the playoffs, he's gone 12.1 innings without allowing a run (15 Ks).

He's a Rule 5 Player, this year. Do we add him to the 40 man?

Yes you do. You add anyone with a pulse. Your 40 man beyond the starting lineup and a few pitchers is devoid of talent.

    He's still in single A.

I know we have roster space for him, but if nobody will put him on their 25 man roster all year, he may not be protected.

Plus, he was ranked like 40th in the Sox system- a weak system- before his end of year surge.

I will say one surprising facet of the Dombrowski regime was his ability to get serviceable and potentially serviceable Diamondbacks' prospects while unloading optionless Sox players who were facing being released...

Mata and Ward had impressive seasons. Nice to see a slimmer Groome come back healthy. Dude has been a model citizen and has busted his ass.

I think Duran is too high. I've always liked Mata.

    I'd go:

    1) Casas
    2) Mata
    3) Dalbec
    4) Groome
    5) Ward

    Big drop off here
    6) Chatham (maybe wishful thinking here)
    7) Jimenez
    8) Houck
    9) Duran
    10) Fill in the blank ___________
