Alex Binelas might have instantly become one of the top power-hitting prospects in the Red Sox org. He cranked nine home runs in 29 A ball games last summer, after being drafted in the third round from Louisville, where he outhomered teammate and #1 overall draft pick Henry Davis, 33-21.
I’m talking about trade where the team trades for prospects.
The problem is, if there were any subsequent deals, the shut down didn’t give us a chance to see what they were.
I can’t say it’s a good trade, but I see the logic behind it. And after questioning last of season and then seeing the team go to the ALCS, just because Bloom doesn’t think like me isn’t necessarily a bad thing….
I think some moves are about the long term and some (mostly all the one year deals) are for the short term.
He seems to really strive for balance, and the short term part worked pretty well, this year, so it is hard to be overly critical of each move one-by-one.
That being said, I'm scratching my head on the totality of Bloom's moves, so far- not just each one-by-one. I'm trying to stay optimistic that Part 2 of this winter (or maybe Spring or summer) hot stove will be more promising in my eyes (not that my eyes matter to Bloom or that my opinions are more important or valid than Bloom's.)

When you say it's gonna happen now
When exactly do you mean?
So far the totality is very similar to last offseason, with the exception of not signing any position players.
Last year he signed Richards and Perez.
This year he signed Paxton, Wacha and Hill.
Last year he traded Benintendi for Cordero and prospects.
This year he traded Renfroe for Bradley and prospects.

There is not much to like about Jeff Bezos. However , it is a fact that Amazon does an outstanding job. They are 20 games ahead of whoever is in second place.
Old school is good school.
