Right. I was just mentioning the ones that really lined up with each other.

Bloom has actually done 3 of those "buying prospects" deals now.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

    Just Frank German, right?

He was a bit of a let down, but he's still in the system and may surprise.

I thought Ottavino was worth the $8+M when we tradeed for him, but he did not do as well as I hoped he would.

He wasn't a complete bust, and probably did better than Richards, Perez and Andriese, who cost about $20M combined.

Yes, not just giving up Beni, but paying $2.8M of his salary, too!

Until Bloom came along, Red Sox fans had never seen much of those "buying prospects" deals. I think that's part of the reason some of them flip out a bit about the Benintendi and Renfroe trades.

The Dodgers have been doing these types of deal for a longer time.

Verdugo JBJ Suzuki .Bogey Correa Kike Devers .Trade new prospects and Bobby to Oakland for Pitching .I honestly think we need to replace Vaz this winter but might be unlikely.

We supposedly had a deal for Stallings that fell through at the last moment, so our idea of replacing Vaz might not have been so far-fetched as many felt it was,

    It may still happen.

Everyone on the Yankee prospect side predicted he would move to relief for 2020 before the season got wiped out due to COVID. Cashman handed him over for cap relief because they knew he was going to be a reliever. Makes little sense that the Sox didn’t see that. German is a high octane RHP with a devastating change up yet zero other secondary offerings. He has a slider that sucks and dabbled with a curve that sucks. He will be a FB-CH reliever akin to Tommy Kahnle once they make the inevitable move

By "new prospects" are you referring to the Renfroe trade? If so, Binelas and Hamilton don't have a ton of trade value.

    Per BTV:

    Dalbec 13.5
    Binelas 4.9
    Hamilton 5.4

    Bassitt 17
    Brown 3.3
    Puk 2.1
    Trivino 1.1

I threw Seth Brown in there just because if the Sox trade Dalbec, I'm not sure who would start at 1b for the Sox.

He had us signing Correa, so I think the idea was to move Devers to 1B and Bogey to 3B. (Kike at 2B.)

    It's not happening.

They aren't signing Correa or Story. I think agents kept pushing the Sox into the SS conversation because they are a big market club with a potential hole at SS next offseason.

Maybe the in on Baez rumor fuels the fire a little, but I agree.

    Not happening.

Suzuki and a couple good RP'ers might be the most we can expect.

I know Suzuki is following the Sox on IG, but are they really in on him too?

    Hopefully not Seth Brown...
