Haha. You are going to be a first-rate accountant, there is no question.
In my little Canadian corner of the public accounting field, things have gotten really f**ked up lately. There seems to be a serious conspiracy among the big accounting firms to wipe out the little firms.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1
The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.
I don't know how much I've told you guys here, but the firm I interned with last summer - and accepted an offer with - got bought out by the 7th largest firm in the US. The only thing about my job offer that changed was a slight increase in salary, so I took it in stride. 1 month in and I'm loving it. The office I'm in is a different one from where I interned (thus the move to Boston), but they were also part of the smaller firm, so I have the culture of a smaller firm in my day-to-day work, but the resources and travel opportunities of a national firm. Perfect combination if you ask me. I also want to move around the country, and I can now pick basically any metropolitan area in the US. Sometimes M&A isn't so bad.
