Be careful out there Moon! This is the first time in my life that Houston has gotten more snow from a storm than we have in CT. We're only getting a few hours of ice and then all rain. My sister-in-law has lived in the South her entire life. Not sure she knows what to do with herself
I was looking at the top poster stats and there are just so many good accounts that aren't around anymore. I hope the good accounts that are no longer here are having a good day today.

I got my second dose earlier this week. Outside of waiting in an amusement park type line, everything went smoothly.
I had a sore arm but no other side effects. This is the same response that I've heard from every coworker and friend that I've talked to who has received the second dose.
I'm glad to be done with it.
COVID may have taken away my senior season with the football team, it did not take away the year's allotment of gear that was owed to me. I received that today and I'm literally so excited, even though I really don't have a need for it anymore. $600 worth of free stuff is nothing to scoff at, though. Free sneakers, backpack, duffels, hoodies, sweatpants, long sleeves, and other DRI-FIT stuff from Nike. Much needed closure for the emotional rollercoaster this job has been over the past 12 months
Hey! Lighten up 700. With the CDC possibly revising guidance on spacing, from 6ft to 3ft, that means 1/2 the synchronized swimmers get to come back.
Let's hope for no more shutdowns for HS sports! Lots of marginal graduating seniors missing out on scholarships that might have been....
Poor kids! Just saw another great kid i hadn't seen in years, in that very situation. Too many lost futures in the last two years. Thankfully, this particular kid has so much going for him that he's gonna be a success story no matter what he does.
Scary story though... His mom teaches for us, & is a VERY LARGE 350lb woman. & literally a very beautiful woman inside & out. Anyway, she contracted the virus, & was out for weeks. We were all on pins & needles, with her weight.
Thank God she is fine now!
As sick as I got from the vaccine.... so glad I didn't get it. I think with my MS, my body can't really handle the breaking pitches anymore. blah blah blah...
Hope to God the kids have full sports programs going asap!

Calm down. I've been tamed.
In general, I don't disagree. We saw how the college football season managed to be a relative success. At least at UConn, the only sport we actually cancelled was football, and that was the players' decision, not any of the higher ups. All of our other fall sports, soccer, field hockey, etc... are going on now. If I was an athlete, or at least an employee of a different sports team, I would rather have a delayed and shortened season. All the football players get an extra year of eligibility anyway. I, however, do not
The extra year of eligibility has screwed the High School seniors vying for scholarships. The sport scholarship budgets and slots are limited. My great nephew was supposed to be pitching at UConn on a scholarship this spring. The scholarship got reduced and more importantly, the coach told him that he couldn’t guarantee PT, because of the players returning for an extra year of eligibility. The kid took off the year from school and is working in a super market and looking for tournaments to showcase himself in the summer.
