    Wait so if a new poster accidentally broke the "game thread code" and then the sox won, wouldn't you superstitious people out there think that another person breaking said code would be a good thing?

    They're already too set in their superstitious ways. I bet that somehow in their heads, the fact that the Red Sox only won by 1 run meant that it was bad luck and if MSU started the thread the game would have been a blowout and the Yankees would have lost.
