Thread: Adopt a prospect

  1. #1

    Adopt a prospect

    It's time to revive this.

I want to learn more about the sox farm system, and I think this is a good way for us all to keep track of player progress. Everyone claims 1 prospect for now (we can get to 2 or 3 after everyone has had a shot). Each prospect gets his own thread, with that prospects claimer acting as the thread owner, updating the board on progress and keeping us all posted on that player's progress. The threads would be open for discussion and questions.

Please claim your prospect here and then create your thread sometime soon. I'll keep this master list current.

I always thought hitters made for more interesting prospects than pitchers, so I'll take Ryan Kalish. I'll make a thread soon.

    Ryan Kalish - Yeszir
    Josh Reddick - Dojji
    Daniel Nava - Dojji
    Ryan Westmoreland - Coco's Disciples
    Casey Kelley - msubulldogs21
    David Renfroe - Dipre
    Ryan Lavarnway - Keeper

I'll surprise absolutely no one by claiming Josh Reddick.
If history tells us anything, the path to redeption for any bad baseball team is marked with a deep rotation of durable starters, a world class defense in both infield and outfield, a lineup that can generate runs in more than one way, a bullpen that won't steal defeat from the jaws of victory, and a top end catcher to hold the whole package together. These are the conditions by which victory is achieved, anything that does not accomplish these objectives is a waste of resources.

    PROSPECT claim, you nut.

BTW I really don't think I'm going to get any competition on this one at ALL, so I'd like to grab Daniel Nava also . I still think he has a chance to be a very good 4th OF in the big leagues. -- even if maybe not here.

    Ryan Lavarnway.
And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know. In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws, And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.

Lavarnway is off to a scorching start in Class A-Advanced. Through 9 games and 41 PAs, Lavarnway's line is .462/.488/.821, 3 HRs, 5 doubles, 15 RBIs, 13 runs scored.

Won't be long before he's in AA.

I want to claim any prospect that Jacko hates.

Well I'm new here. But I'll Take Rizzo. I think he is the future at first and will be better than Anderson.
