Agreed. He was known for doing similar things in New England. I'm indifferent about him, but I've been rooting for the Bucs to lose every game this year
Brady engineers another amazing comeback against Atlanta.
Jets are beating Rams at the half.
Mahomes is doing Mahomes things.

THE JETS WINNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't care if they lose the #1 pick, it's against everything I believe in to root for one of my teams to go 0-16. I play to win
Hasn't been that bad the entire season. Injuries and opt outs killed them this year. Interesting to see what they do with Newton. It would be the most Belichick thing ever to come out of nowhere and trade up for a QB. Next year, the defense will be back to normal with Chung and Hightower back. So, the pressure is on to find a QB.
Do the Detroit Lions get their proper due as a totally inept sports franchise?

The Lions' last championship came in 1957.
It appears to me that they have won exactly one playoff game since then, and that win was followed by a 41-10 loss in the conference championship.
That's a pretty rough 63-year stretch.

It is. The Lions are 1-12 in the post-season since 1957.

But on the bright side, it was an impressive 38-6 win...

In this case its not just as good. Trevor Lawrence is a generational talent that teams have been eying for years. By winning a pointless game, the Jets are no longer in position to get him. Its clear the Jets dont view Darnold as the future with all the trade rumors he's been in, meaning QB is their biggest need and there isn't often prospects like Lawrence. I don't think it matters which team gets the #1 pick, if you get it you either 1. Take Lawrence. 2. Trade it for ridiculous trade package.

Even these generational talents can flop. I remember when Tony Mandarich was the subject of an SI article entitled "The Greatest Offensive Line Prospect Ever." You probably never even heard of the guy.
Jeff George was one of those QBs many felt was an elit talent worth trading up for. He was not quite Elway or Peyton Manning as a QB prospect, but he as absolutely revered for his ridiculous throwing ability.
And bear in mind, too, the players who were NOT considered generational talents and slipped. Aaron Rodgers. Pat Mahomes. Tom Brady. The draft is an inexact science...
