Thread: Tim Wakefield

    Re: Tim Wakefield

Wake will get his 200th win as a Red Sox .

They'll make it happen one way or another .

If the Sox jump out on a team 10 - 0 after 4 I can totally see them removing the starter in order for Wake to get it done that way .

Yeah, just call up a kid to start against AJ Burnett. "Listen bush, we're get you a huge lead. Get us through 4 without sucking Matsuzaka-esque amounts of cock and then we'll pull you for Wakefield."

    Re: Tim Wakefield

Of Wake's last 10 games he usually went 6+ and only once gave up more than 4 ER and that wasn't even during his last start.. he's as solid a #4 or 5 can be this year ... in most cases it's been Wake being handed the ND (4 ND's when leaving with a lead)

Wake bashers need to pull their heads out.. he's just fine.. the wins will come.. and it could be WAY worse... the Yanks roll Burnett out every 5 days

Getting Wake number 200 has been costly as off late.It doesnt help that he is stinking up the joint.Wake is a good guy and i wanna see him get 200.

Sad news. It has been reported that Wake has cancer.

When he was on, he was fun to watch.

14 wins for the Pirates. 186 wins for the Sox.

    Let's get another one!

Wake took a lot of grief over the last few year and for allowing that home run, but he was a great competitor and got the job done, more often than not.

140+ IP for 14 straight seasons and 16 out of 17 (130 the other year.)

I don't remember him getting much grief on here for that. I was never mad at him. He shouldn't have been in that position.

And if redemption was needed, he got it in 2004.
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

It seemed like some turned on him after that, maybe not so much because of it.

That was "that other site," so maybe it was different, here.

Mr. Bloody Sock outed it without anybody's permission. Easily the single worst person I have ever rooted for in my 956 years as a sportsball fan.

Schilling is the worst. Just more evidence how horrible and self centered he is. Wake didn't want the news to get out, but Schill put it out there anyway. What an asshole.

Awful. His wife has pancreatic cancer. Tom has aggressive brain cancer. Their kids are 19 and 16 and might be orphans all at once. Fuck cancer man
