"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.
"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Just found this from WEEI. Farrell was speaking of Castillo's chances of getting AB and the writer explained why Shaw was not pinch hit for yesterday.
As I suggested, Farrell may actually know something that others are not thinking about.
"In a scenario where Farrell wanted to pitch hit against a lefty pitcher — which he chose not to Tuesday when Travis Shaw faced reliever Ross Detwiler because of the way Shaw had handled lefties in spring training — it would be Young who would get the first call."
Right or wrong, he had his reason.

Farrell on Castillo being in a tough spot:
“He’s in a tough spot. No one denies it,” said Farrell of Castillo. “We’ve had sit-down conversations with him on what his role is going to be and how we make the most of it, and yet at the same time, you’re looking to put the same team on the field. That’s where we are. It’s a situation Rusney’s in himself. It’s not an easy position to be in. It’s a role that he’s not accustomed to because of how often he played in Cuba before coming over here, so work to make the best of it.”
I really hope the others in the rotation step up, and Bucholz gets traded this year. I can't stand him
Clay being an asshole and gets away with it again.
He will pitch fine. It's the eventual injury we need to worry about.
We miss you Mike.
Buchholtz is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
