Some complained that we gave up too much for Kimbrel. Mortgaged the future by trading four prospects. So far the four prospects have not amounted to a hill of beans. Meanwhile , we have a dominant closer. One of the best.

The guy is lights out when he throws strikes, and even when he is not right, he is better than most. Margot is the only prospect who has made it to the majors at this juncture and he had no place in our OF. DD usually has a good record for trading away prospects who never amount to much. Right now, Moncada has one distinction and it involves eating Twinkies.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.
"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."
Since I bitched about Kimbrel being wild and throwing too many pitches and of course never having clean innings the motherfucker has been death to hitters.
Now if he can stop pretending to be MVP with that ginger clump of a beard I would be even happier.

I agree on both counts. I was as critical as anyone of Kimbrel's wildness. Eck remarked recently how he was 'pulling' the ball, causing it to run toward the left but he now seems to have found the cure. I'd like to think that Spud & I had something to do with that. :-)
And that beard - it looks like a cat with the mange. Ugh.
It's a mere moment in a man's life between the All-Star game and the Old Timer's game.

Besides Sale, Eck has to be my favorite part about this team right now.
