    Magic Numbers:

    Division - 31
    Wild Card - 27
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

    Right now, it's 4.
4 straight losses and 4 runs scored this weekend.

    That's plenty tragic.

with no Price, we may actually have a shot to go deep into thre playoffs!
Really don't want to face Cleveland what so ever come playoffs. I think we would actually have a good shot at beating Houston. They have really cooled down in the second half of the season and we won our season series against them. But then again with how wildly inconsistent we have been any team could take us out in the playoffs. Hopefully this team turns it on entering playoffs.

No, the Sox have not won their season series against the Astros. They are 2-1 with 4 to play at Fenway the last weekend of the season.

OTOH, they did win the season series from Cleveland 4-3.

All of which means nothing once October rolls around.

Yup, I want nothing to do with Cleveland in the playoffs.

I'll take my chances against Cleveland on the road, than potentially having to win the AL Wild Card game, and then facing the Astros with only one Sale start. We should be rooting for a Cleveland sweep.

I think my signature says it all.

That would be the worst case scenario, but it would still be a mild win. Again, that's provided that we win our games as well. Trust me, I really hope and prefer that the Yankees get swept.

I agree completely with your signature. I never want the Yankees anywhere near the playoffs.

The way I determine who I least want to face in the playoffs is to consider which team would it hurt the most to lose to. That's always the Yankees, so I always hope they get eliminated before we have to face them in the playoffs, even if they might be a lesser opponent on paper.

OTOH, beating them would also bring the most joy over any other team, so there is that.

    @PeteAbe

The #RedSox have 31 games left, 14 against the Blue Jays (8), Athletics (3) and Reds (3).

Need to win the easy ones.

We need JBJ and Pedey back to help us do that. It sounds like both will be back during this week so things are looking up.
