    "Sucker punch" Sanchez suspension

Is there anyone who believes that the Sanchez suspension is a joke! To begin with to only get four games for what he did is unbelievable. He sucker punched two Tigers that were being held down at the time and had no way of defending themselves. He was pulled away by a teammate after the first sucker punch and ran in to get another one. It should be four games for each. The appeal process is a joke as well. It should have taken place within a week of the incident. If his suspension gets lowered from the four games the whole system needs to be questioned. Thanks Mr. Torres for the great process. Not!

I agree that the 4 games was too light. Cabrera got 7 games. It seemed like the Yanks got a discount because they're still in contention for the playoffs.

The appeals are supposed to be dealt with today I think.

Odor got seven last year for that brawl against the Blue Jays. That seems fair.

I'd loved to have been there to hear the justification for Sanchez only getting four games. The argument that made it happen would be funnier than anything Chris Rock or George Carlin ever did.

    In a word... ridiculous.
It's a mere moment in a man's life between the All-Star game and the Old Timer's game.

No, they got a discount because Torre is the once who decides these things. They always do. And notice they conveniently waited until the rosters expanded.

That being said, my guess is the results will be announced Monday; that way Yanks have all hands on deck for this weekend. I would not be surprised to see both Sanchez's and Romine's reduced 1 game each (to 3 and 1; given his role, Romine's is a little more understandable in that regard, Sanchez's ought to be raised). Romine will miss one game of the Yanks-Orioles series and Sanchez will miss the 1 in that series and the 2 in the Yanks-Rangers series.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

    The fix is in.

Keeping the Yanks in the race generates thousands, if not millions, of dollars in revenue.

Look at some of the strike-calling last night.

No wonder we only got 4 hits.

And he did not cheap shot anyone. He was just defending himself.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

What a joke this all is.

He got a really good shot in on Joey.

I still laugh when I see that or think of it.

The Sanchez suspension is a joke, the Ezekiel Elliott suspension is fair, but he's making it a joke by suing. Pro athletes are primadonnas. They have always thought, and will continue to think that they are above the law. It's a sad trend in sports.

I voiced a similar opinion a couple of weeks ago.

    It's good for the game.

The only aggression that is bad for the game is when umps try to act like hard asses.
