Houck: Over last ten games: 3.36 ERA, 63 strikeouts, 19 walks in 56.1 IP
I'm optimistic on both of them, power is a good tool to have. If anything else develops with it it's easy to carve out a MLB career. But I just can't get over Dalbecs K rate. You have to make contact for your power to be worth anything and if he's K'ng more than 33% of the time in the lower minors.
They're also the same age at the same level but Chavis has missed a bunch of time the last two seasons. He could easily be in the majors today or in Pawtucket knocking on the door if he didn't get suspended. Again, two good assets to have, Sox will be lucky and benefit greatly if one of them pans out. Chavis has a little bit of swing and miss in his game too, and I'm not sure he has the height to play fist base, which I'm sure is not uber important.
Ockimey's K rate is real bad too. 1 out 3 at bats a K, not good. That's a steady trend throughout his career. At least Chavis and Dalbec can hit HR's, Ockimey so-so with power at such a high rate of Strikeouts.
Ks would be okay, if he could keep up the .350+ OBP, but it usually doesn't work out that way with these high K prospects.
Here's a position by position look at how long are starters are under team control and the in-house prospects that could possibly become an in-house solution to the possible departures.

He's going in the wrong direction this year.
Howlett with his 5th tater of the year for the gcl Sox. This kid has impressed me.
Dalbec with an rbi today. I think he is up to 98 on the year. Wow!
Phillips & Castillo with 3 hits each.
Travis & DeJesus (HR) with 2 each.
Workman with 2Ks and 0H/0BB in 1 IP.
Josh Smith with 7 IP 1 ER and 2 Hits.
Denyi Reyes 7 IP 2 ER, 4 H & 0 BB.
De la Guerra with his 12th tater today.

His last start wasn't that bad either. Bad relief, and bad fielding lost him that one. Here's the write up.
