    Jay Groome needs TJS

The Boston Red Sox announced Wednesday that Minor League left-handed pitcher Jay Groome will have Tommy John surgery on his left elbow next week. The procedure will be performed on Tuesday by Dr. Neal El Attrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles.

Groome is the Red Sox's No. 2-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Just what the farm system needed!

    Totally unnecessary.

All Groome needs to do is learn to throw with his right arm.

    Problem sol-ved.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Should have traded him. Our drafted pitchers rarely amount to much.

This was easy to see from a mile away. Maybe he will finally start progressing in 2019 when healthy

Jeez, that sucks. Coming after the loss of Flores (which I still hate even mentioning in a baseball context because it was so horrifying and tragic) and Chavis' PED suspension, and with the lack of high-end talent in general, it's dark times for the farm right now.

Wanted him gone with the off field baggage around him. Maybe Jeter like damaged goods? JT would solve our butt of jokes at catchers.

Wondering how Anderson Espinosa is doing? Cant find nothing on him.
Nevermind, he's done for the year, this year. Pomeranz trade looking more and more favorable for the Sox.

Meh. It’s probably the best time to get this out of the way for him. It’s not like he was going to break into the major league rotation this season or next. Besides, It’s pretty common now. Just ask the Mets.

Hard to trade a guy that has been injured since day 1.
