Thread: Beni rising!?

    Beni rising!?

What's your final line on him for the year?

    I say he hits...

Close to .300+, .400 obp, .475+ slgl, circa .900 OPS
    20 HR +/- 2
    85+ rbi's
    90+ runs scored

I think there is also a real chance that he heats up soon, & these numbers go a bit higher?
    I love the kids bat.

I hate him in CF, but he is acceptable. Honestly, I'd rather see Mookie in CF when JDM plays, and put Beni in RF?

Still has trouble on the basepaths, but sees some daylight from his arss.

I don’t see him as a .900 OPS guy. I see him topping out in the mid .800s.

Mid 800's seems like his ceiling, but I could see him having a .900 season here and there over his career (along with some upper .700 seasons).

Well, he went 2 for 4 tonight so will probably do that the rest of the way.

    .386/.490/.625 OPS of 1.115.

What better way to judge someone than by the most recent SSS!

That only works for Sox players who have sucky recent SSS.

Benintendi has a really tight swing, it really is just a matter of time until he is a .290 plus hitter.

My hopes for him this year were for a 280 average and maybe 20 HR based on his increased strength. So far, he is not showing an exit velocity that will give him that many homers but at least his average is moving in the right direction. Good swing, if often just a shade late and good plate discipline.

I'd add better base-running awareness, but I agree totally.

I'm also hoping his OBP improves more than his slugging.

Beni can't play RF in Fenway. Not sure he could reach 2b with a throw from the corner in RF. His arm is pretty terrible.
