Sox pen is top 6 in ERA, saves, Batting Average Against and runs allowed.
He still has a day or so to make it happen.

They are #2 in WAR since the start of 2017.
Maybe people think other pens are much better than ours, because they don't watch them implode.
(Although, we watched several implode in our late inning crooked number innings.
Over and over we were told the DD couldn't build a pen and it would be his downfall. Seems like it's gone ok so far!
Kinsler is still a very good ballplayer IMO. And with some postseason experience and good postseason numbers.
Happy to have him.
He’s a 36yo who plays a position manned by utility infielders all season long and we got him for a 25yo career minor league pitcher, whose value is suddenly in question after all of 6 innings pitched?
The Sox could use bullpen help. What makes people think Ty Buttrey is better than the pitchers we already have in the pen?

The general theme of the board this week is “Matt Barnes sucks!! Craig Kimbrel is struggling!!! The whole pen is collapsing!! We need Ty Buttrey now!!!”
Kinsler was a great pick up. It’s like having 2 Pedroia’s, one that’s hurt and one that we can still play. What’s not to like?
Kinsler and Pedroia are very similar, although I suppose the girls find Kinsler better-looking...
Well, Ty did string together 5 or 6 scoreless innings!
my post wasnt about how we rank vs the other 29 teams. it is how effective i perceive them to be in the postseason against the elite teams.
