Big time win for ND tonight. Ian Book is such a huge upgrade over Wimbush.

Also, what the the hell was Penn State thinking tonight? 4th and 5 you run a draw play?

I thought for sure Penn State had that game.

I was also pulling for the Syracuse upset of Clemson.

ND could have leap-frogged those two plus Stanford... maybe more.

We have a few more tough games left, but nobody in the top 20.

    This might be the rankings...

    1. Alabama
    2. Georgia
    3. LSU
    4. Ohio State
    5. Clemson
    6. Notre Dame
    7. Oklahoma
    8. Auburn
    9. West Virginia
    10. Washington
    11. ICF
    12. Michigan
    13. Penns State
    14. Stanford
    15. Kentucky

Best game N.D. has played in a while. They overcame a good Stanford team plus PAC 10 officials to take control and dominate in the second half. They will have to run the table and go undefeated to make the playoffs. If they can stay healthy, they have a good shot.

Ian Book has been a breath of fresh air. Notre Dame has been limited by their QB play the last few seasons, ever since Golson went in the crapper. We finally have an actual throw first, accurate QB who is able to run. Wimbush who?

They weren't going undefeated with a true freshman starting at QB. They'll be rolling at the end of the season.

Reminds me of my Freshman year when Joe Montana started the championship season as our 3rd string QB. (Dan Devine was our idiot coach.)

Georgia almost did last year. But, they did have three fantastic HBs and an elite defense

Well there was an absurd amount of upsets today, the new top 4 should be very interesting. Notre Dame avoiding that Pitt upset before the bye week was huge.

No way West Virginia stays in the top 10. I don't think Michigan jumps that high, even though their only loss is to ND.

    Top 10 should be:
    Bama
    Ohio State
    Clemson
    Notre Dame
    LSU
    Texas
    UCF
    Oregon
    Florida
    Oklahoma

Michigan might not jump to #7, like I have them, but they belong in the top 10 over Oregon and Okl. . I agree Oklahoma should top West Va.

Michigan started as #12 and they just beat a damn good Wisconsin team (#14). True, Oregon just beat #7 Washington, but they started out at #17 not #12.

Oklahoma started as #11 and did not play. I think Michigan's win over Wisconsin is enough to have them jump over OK.

    My revised top 11

    6. Texas
    7. UCF

    11. Oklahoma

The Irish offense did not have one of their better days. The defense came to the rescue and they were able to eke out the win on a day of upsets. They should move up to number four. If they run the table, they will be in the playoffs. However , I'm afraid that college football now consists of Alabama and then everyone else.

I agree, but I hate the way Alabama pads their schedule, except for the SEC match-ups, in which they are forced to play.

    This year's patsies:

    Louisville
    Arkansas St.
    Louisiana
    The Citadel

I guess you can't blame them: they have to play 8 conference games. 4 of those 8 are currently ranked between 13 and 24. They certainly do not have a patsy schedule, but the 4 games they choose are almost always very weak teams.

We need to get out of that 4 spot. I am hoping we are 3 or 2. I don't want to face Bama. Let another SEC team get the 4 slot and knock off Bama before we would have to play them. As it stands right now, I don't think the Irish can even get within 20 points of Bama
