So the Mets are going to trade 3 years of Syndergaard for 2 years of Realmuto? What do you think the logic is here? To get to the bottom faster? If they get Realmuto, they think they’re good enough to win in that timeframe and that doesn’t happen if they deal Thor.

The article on MLBTR actually says the Yankees have interest in other Mets’ pitchers as well. Syndergaard might not be the target here. The Yankees might be looking at Wheeler. (I’m sure they already asked about deGrom.)

There's no way this deal involves Syndergaard, unless some other major pieces are added.

Especially if they think it should be Andujar straight up for Syndergaard and Castro. Castro is good enough that the Marlins can deal him in another trade. Now if the Yankees took back Wei-Yin Chen, maybe. Prado? Maybe but less likely. But Castro? A lot less appealing.

Of course that assumes the Marlins are so desperate to unload Chen or Prado they’d compromise a trade of their best player to do so. But given jow many Realmuto rumors there have been, why would they?

Of course none of that stops the real problem of the Mets getting completely sodomized in that deal...

there are several rumors floating around, another said that the yankees might get Realmuto and have him split time with Sanchez, which makes no sense, if they get Realmuto without giving up Sanchez is because they are planning to send one of them to another team. a lot of BS in the rumors right now

Or move Sanchez to 1b/DH. They aren’t really going to count on a repeat performance from Luke Voit, are they?

    Probably not.

It would be nice to add Realmuto while keeping Sanchez bat in the lineup, but SP is the Yankees main priority

By the way, some people say the Yankees are involved just to mess with the Mets, driving the price up for them

Hard to tell the truth in all the rumors

But you just said that Thor is a health risk and he has never pitched more than 180 innings. You also said to be worth the price he would have to make 30 starts.

I am now confused by your statements.

No, the Yankees will not have the best rotation in baseball.

    It would be improved, though.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Thor is only a health risk for OTHER teams. Got it now?

Seems the #Mets are getting the ultimatum from the #Marlins- send Thor to the #Yankees or we’ll send Realmuto to one of your other rivals. Not MIA’s job to do NYM any favors here.

The important thing we all learned from that tweet is Jeter is still wearing pinstripes...
