Considering the normal career arc of any MLB player and its many pitfalls due to injury and other factors, any list like that is ging to have a few players who didn't achieve.

Seeing Victor Martinez and AJ Pierzynski on the list (as bad an experience as we had with AJ, he was an all star caliber catcher for a very long career), consider me still intrigued.
If history tells us anything, the path to redeption for any bad baseball team is marked with a deep rotation of durable starters, a world class defense in both infield and outfield, a lineup that can generate runs in more than one way, a bullpen that won't steal defeat from the jaws of victory, and a top end catcher to hold the whole package together. These are the conditions by which victory is achieved, anything that does not accomplish these objectives is a waste of resources.

I think the bidding war for him would be pretty strong with teams with a lot stronger farms than the sox.

That leaves out the Red Sox. Bleacher Report ranked their farm 28 out of 30....

Yankees would never make that trade. Sanchez is a future HOFer!

I think Sanchez is better than what he showed this year but seriously doubt he'll be a HOF'er.

Sanchez has a special bat. He’s way better than we saw. He’s got a cannon behind the plate. He just gets lazy and he lacks quickness. If his work ethic behind the dish doesn’t improve, then I’m happy to see him DH. He will hit this year.

When Sanchez was Devers' age, he was still playing in Peoria in front of 50 people. Nice try though sport!
