    Retirement

Will you ever retire? Around what age? Will you have enough money set aside?

This is something that haunts me. I have a 401k but I am worried that even if I retire at 70, I could still live another 20 years, constantly worrying about not having enough to live on. By that time, I expect modern medicine will have us living until 120.
    Priorities:
    1. Yankees lose
    2. Red Sox win

I am retired, and I look at the glass as half-full. If I have the privilege to live to age 90 or beyond, I will just have to figure out a way to get by.

My goal in life was to retire at age 40.

I was on pace to make it, but a second marriage set me back 9 years.

I'm retired now, but volunteer 4-5 days a week at a 100% eco dis middle school.

I'm almost 63 and I can't afford to retire. I do work shorter hours now though.

I'm an accountant. I'm going to die in this chair (well, one very similar to it anyway).

You and me both. I work with my brother, and he just turned 70!

    70 is prime accounting age.

After reviewing my financial situation both present and future, I have discovered that I can officially retire and live comfortably shortly before my 145th birthday...

No benefit to retiring in Canada?

I got awful news yesterday that someone that I hired in 1993 who was being excessed for cost cutting measures after 25 years died suddenly on Thursday after being terminated on Monday. You can't buy time. I'd rather run out of money.

'Died suddenly' is always an ominous description, too.

Your philosophy is one I agree with. I retired at 56 but continued to coach for another 10. I enjoy retirement but it would be dishonest of me not to say that sometimes I wish that I had kept going for a few more. When the injuries started at the age of 60, the life I had planned kind of got a little restricted. The bigger message from me would be, stay occupied some how and keep moving.

    Buy bitcoin, retire early!

But until that fortune comes to fruition, I'm also an accounting meatbag.
