In my opinion, the next players won't be back with the team:

    Tulo will retire
    Kendry will be DFA
Ellsbury will be released next year

Sevy to start throwing off a mound next week. Which means he probably won't get into sim/rehab games until mid July, so early August is probably a realistic return date barring any setbacks.

Montgomery exited live BP after 15 pitches due to arm discomfort

Judge expected to be activated Friday. The lineup will be complete for 2019.

    1. Lemahieu 3B
    2. Judge RF
    3. Sanchez C
    4. Stanton LF
    5. Encarnacion DH
    6. Voit 1B
    7. Gregorius SS
    8. Hicks CF
    9. Torres SS

Urshela and Gardner waiting in the wings. This is an awesome lineup. They can be patient and aggressive. Hit for power and contact. The meshing of the team is absolutely incredible. This is a championship lineup. The rotation... not so much
    Hal sucks

They'll trade for a top SP'er at some point this summer.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

That’s my expectation. I just don’t want a rental unless Sevy returns and is himself. I had Montgomery penciled into next season’s rotation, but if he's one of the 20% or so who have complications and never comes back right, we’ll need someone for 2020 too. And if we’re going to spend prospect capital, we might as well do it for someone who’s gonna be around for a bit.

I like our 2-3 in the playoffs. I do think Paxton and Tanaka are good pitchers and Tanaka especially has been a lights out pitcher in the post season. But we either need Sevy to be Sevy or get someone who could be

What happened to you high hopes for Happ? I remember when I mentioned his age has increased the chances he's due for a decline and possibly a steep one, you poo-poo'd the idea.

Your everyday players and pen are solid-- more than solid.

Only the rotation can keep you guys from being the playoff favorites.

My guess is, you guys go very big for a top SP'er like Scherzer.

Happ and CC are what they are. I said it from the beginning and during the offseason. They're 5 inning pitchers. Limited risk, money wasn't insane, so Happ's deal was fine. Do I want him on the mound in anything but a game 4 of the postseason, absolutely not

I remember differently, when last winter, I was questioning Happ and CC. You kept bringing up Happ's great, recent numbers.

When I posted my wish list I had said Happ was a good 5 inning pitcher for us and with our great pen, he’s a fine fit. That hasn’t changed

I remember saying he was due for a set back year, and you disagreed.
