Sad, but predictable. Pedroia needs to get off the ball field and into a knee brace permanently to delay the need for a total knee replacement, which I think he will eventually need. As for the Red Sox, its time to move on.

Reportedly, it is just a minor setback . So let's not be too quick to rule him out.
I know he wasn't great last year, but I thought they should have retained Kinsler.

So, not as serious as we thought. We are going to be hearing about this all year. This is probably his last season. If he doesnt retire, they will DL him next year and pay him to stay away from the team (like the Yankees with Ellsbury).
This was talked about in another thread, but best used here. Pedroia was scratched from his most recent game with renewed knee soreness. He has looked gimpy in his rehab starts and hasn't hit anywhere since 2017. He had a good run, but he is done.
