    Richard Prior.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

I have to commend the two guys who mentioned Reggie Lewis and Len Bias.

If you were a sports fan living around Boston when Lewis died your were most likely profoundly affected.

He was not a local boy as scuh. He grew up in Maryland and went to a powerhouse high school at Dimatha.

What he did was star at Northeastern University for several years and bring that team out of obscurity into the national limelight.

He was then surprisingly the Celts top pic. In a time of transition for the Celts, Lewis proved to be an offensive weapon and a true all star. All the while doing good things in the local community.

Such a shame what happened and how his health and death were handled.

Len Bias fucked up. Big Time.

He was going to be an MJ talent in green.

Stupid and senseless loss of a young life.

Goodman has taken some action to improve his health. But l'm sure his obesity has taken a lasting toll on his body.

I forgot to mention my old friend Ben Orr.

He was the bass player for The Cars and their lead vocalist. I became friends with him in 1983 or so. He died of pancreatic cancer a while back. Now I am haunted each time I hear him sing. Such a wonderful person. He was not into that rock celebrity lifestyle. I miss joking around with him. He was a funny motherfucker. RIP Ben.
