The kid has been tearing up the Pacific Coast League, showing consistent power for the first time in his career. Congratulations, to the kid. He has had a long road to the majors. Grandpa must be thrilled.

    From MLB.com

Will Smith got the save, but give credit to Mike Yastrzemski.

With Saturday's game on the line in the bottom of the ninth, the Giants left fielder made a tremendous diving catch to secure San Francisco's 8-7 win over the Brewers at Oracle Park.

Smith fanned the first two batters of the frame, but Christian Yelich homered to pull the Brewers within one. Ryan Braun followed with a single, bringing the potential go-ahead run to the plate in Yasmani Grandal, who lifted the ball into left-center field, where Yastrzemski came racing in before laying out to put the game away.

He's doing pretty well for a 28-year old rookie. A 1.0 WAR in less than a third of a full season.

Orioles must be kicking themselves. They never gave him a shot, and they gave him away. Much of it can be blamed on that douche Showalter.

Mike is having a tremendous season.

    297/412/588 - 1.000 OPS
    2.2 bWAR

I looked up his contract status. He won't be a free agent until 2026, when's he's 35 going on 36.
