07/16/19 Blue Jays (Waguespack) @ Red Sox (Cashman)

The starting rotation struggles ends tonight!!!! Because....... One man will rise above the authority..... One man will enter the gauntlet..... One man will solve this pitching problem one batter at a time.....That man is Andrew.....Andrew Cashner.

Say you prayers Jays. Tonight the Cash man enters the ring!

    DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, since I kept score of last night's game for the first time in probably 5 years, I guess I gotta do it again. That was actually a pretty entertaining game to score. Did it on my phone, though, and tonight I was gonna go paper.... Does that jinx it?

    Win. Dance. Repeat. x2

Do it on paper. No jinx.

I had to go to bed before that 4 run 8th by the Jays.

Yes, I hope our new starter will go at least 6, but the key stat is that the Sox lead MLB in runs scored.

The best defense is a good offense. As George C. Scott said about a year after we landed on the moon, "We're going to hold onto him by the nose, and we're gonna kick him in the ass. We're gonna kick the hell out of him all the time, and we're gonna go through him like crap through a goose!' Believe it or not, Francis Ford Coppola wrote the screenplay for that movie (and got an oscar for it).

As it turns out, our best hitting lineup will play tonight--

    Betts RF
    Devers 3B
    Bogaerts SS
    Martinez DH
    Benintendi LF
    Vazquez C
    Bradley CF
    Chavis 1B
    Holt 2B

Haven’t seen that movie in years. Scott delivered a somewhat more sanitized of one that Patton actually gave in the spring of 1944. The real Patton had a very squeaky voice as opposed to Scott’s gravelly one.
The Yankees could go 0-162 and it wouldn't be enough

Interesting that the SOX have 3 starters named PRICE, SALE, and CASHner.

It also relates to their other starter POORFELLOW. (I know that's a stretch)

    Works quickly, I like that.

So far, he’s fitting right in. 6 foul balls so far.
