Yes, we will be a playoff team this year

As opposing pitching staffs get weaker, our incredible offense gets even stronger/ We can easliy tahe 30 of these remaing games. Our NEW and revised staff will feature EROD (5 innings every 4TH day) and a take your pick batc of 2-3 inning pitchers.

Maybe Price kpinns EROD for 4 day, 5 inning stints, but it will look something like that.

Tonight, Tuesday, against Philly may be the toughest game wee see for the next week or so.

    Sorry about the title screwup!

A Red Sox trip to this year's postseason would be quite impressive.

The Boston Braves were in last place on the 4th of July 1914, and WON IT ALL! And that was back when they played only 154 games.. It is not impossible. One really good winning streak does it!

Unless the Sox score in the double digits, they don't stand a great chance of winning. The fascinating thing about this team is how often they regularly DO reach double digits in runs.

I'm one of the most optimistic people on this site, and even I've given up on this team

Yes, and Kimmi and I are usually the last to give up.

    She's still believing.

I gave up after the second sweep.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Note: One of the announcers erred in reporting the number of games remaining. There are 37, including this game tonight (Tues.) and the suspended game on Thursday.

Not really. They can all afford the lofty ticket prices...

I’m usually among the last to give up /as well.

This year, it’s a two person race to see who gives up last. Kimmi vs Slasher. And right now that race is more interesting than the Sox postseason hunt...

Not winning games like this should convert the rest to non believers.

Our incredible offense ran into good pitching. Note that Nola didn't throw over 94 mph but had a nice assortment of pitches and kept our hitters off balance all night. Only JBJ did much and that in itself was intereswting.

The end of July convinced me. The only hope then and now is that both Oakland and TB collapse.

Notice also that Nola is one of the few starters left, either league (NL has more of this endangered species than AL) that actually CHALLENGES hitters. If you don't swing at his pitch, as much movement as there is on it, its still then a called strike more often than not. Nola was at something like 59 pitches through 5 complete. You don't do that either nibbling or always trying to get every hitter to chase which is the staple of the Red Sox starting rotation.
