    Celebrity Deaths that impacted you?

I was thinking about this last night and does anyone else just get really sad thinking about some celebrity deaths? I know we don't know most of them personally, but man it really hit me how sad the deaths of Len Bias, Jose Fernandez, Nick Adenhart, Sean Taylor, Yordano Ventura and I recently read about a Celtics player Reggie Lewis. Like its just crazy how much talent these guys had and they died due to something they can control (except maybe Fernandez, that whole thing is little iffy to me, he may have drove drunk, didn't deserve to die or anything but still sad)

anybody else though about this stuff or had one celebrity that just left a "wow I cant believe he's dead" impact on you?

    Jerry Garcia.

I don't know why. It's not like it should have been a surprise, but it still gets me choked up when I think about him.

Leonard Nimoy hit me hard for obvious reasons, James Doohan as well. I was too young when DeForest Kelley died, but I imagine it will be the same as the major cast members of all the shows slowly die off as I (and they) get older. I know I'm going to be sad as hell when Patrick Stewart goes.

As for non-Trek celebrities, Robin Williams was a bad one.

Mac Miller was different than any other celebrity death for me. Dude was like part of me growing up and was one of me and my friends favorite artists during HS. Almost all of his songs off his mixtapes and and albums from 2010 and on have a nostalgic feel for me, I have so many memories listening to his music before games, in class, at parties etc. When he died last year it really shook me up, thinking someone around my age who was a big part of my life died from an accidental drug overdose is crazy.

Nipsey Hussle dying this year also made me really sad/pissed. Especially the way it happened.

Lennon died when I was 4. The question is which death impacted me.

I'd have to put mine in categories.

Most distressing suicides of recent years:

    Robin Williams
    Chris Cornell
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

It's a little amazing to me that these guys died and yet John Goodman is still kicking. I was rewatching the story arc he appears in in The West Wing and you can literally hear him breathing in between lines. It was so loud and labored they couldn't even get rid of it in post-production!

Agree. Kurt Cobain had an effect of me. I was shook up for a while.
