It was certainly a move that can be questioned. But the Phillies had their 3-4-5 hitters due up in the bottom of the 7th with Harper leading off.

I really don't think anyone would rather have seen one of our relievers there than E-Rod.

    SPLINTER, you're a manager-basher from way back, aren't you?

I'm not meaning to call you out here. You're obviously a very knowledgeable fan. It's just that you never let up with the WTF shit.

You thought Farrell (Farkell, as you called him) was terrible and you also didn't think much of Francona either, which says it all.

It's not like you're going to speak highly of the guy who replaces Cora.

As a group, baseball managers are right their with politicians in the stupidity category.

True, but some are much dumber than others.

Yes, but just to be clear they are all on a stupidity scale.

I am in the "managers are hired to be fired" camp. I don't see why any of them should be making more than the league minimum. I thought Mike Scioscia's almost 20 year tenure and bloated salary were ridiculous. One World Series win shouldn't give you a 20 year ride. Similarly, Terry Collins 8 year tenure with the NY Mets with an under .500 record was absurd.

Its not Cora's fault that the starting pitching (outside of E-Rod) stunk and the bullpen sucked. That's on DD and he paid the price. Cora will be back in 2020.

Cora didn't do a good job either. There is no reason to retain him or his coaching staff.
